2When the Philistinesפְלִשְׁתִּים֙fe.lish.TimH6430tookוַיִּקְח֤וּvai.yik.ChuH3947the arkאֲר֣וֹן'a.RonH727of Godהָאֱלֹהִ֔יםha.'E.lo.HimH430,they broughtוַיָּבִ֥יאוּvai.ya.Vi.'uH935it into the houseבֵּ֣יתbeitH1004of Dagonדָּג֑וֹןda.GonH1712,and setוַיַּצִּ֥יגוּvai.ya.Tzi.guH3322it byאֵ֥צֶל'E.tzelH681Dagonדָּגֽוֹן׃da.GonH1712.

6But the handיַד־yad-H3027of Yhwhיְהוָ֛הYah.wehH3068was heavyוַתִּכְבַּ֧דva.tikh.BadH3513upon them of Ashdodהָאַשְׁדּוֹדִ֖יםha.'ash.do.DimH796,and he destroyedוַיְשִׁמֵּ֑םvay.shi.MemH8074them, and smoteוַיַּ֤ךְvai.YakhH5221them with emerodsבַּטְּחֹרִ֔יםbat.cho.RimH6076 H2914, evenAshdodאַשְׁדּ֖וֹד'ash.DodH795and the coastsגְּבוּלֶֽיהָ׃ge.vu.Lei.haH1366thereof.

7And when the menאַנְשֵֽׁי־'an.shei-H582of Ashdodאַשְׁדּ֖וֹד'ash.DodH795sawוַיִּרְא֥וּvai.yir.'UH7200that it wasso, they saidוְאָמְר֗וּve.'a.me.RuH559,The arkאֲר֨וֹן'a.RonH727of the Godאֱלֹהֵ֤י'e.lo.HeiH430of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵל֙Yis.ra.'ElH3478shall not abideיֵשֵׁ֞בye.ShevH3427with us: for his handיָדוֹ֙ya.DoH3027is soreקָשְׁתָ֤הka.she.TahH7185upon us, and upon Dagonדָּג֥וֹןda.GonH1712our godאֱלֹהֵֽינוּ׃'e.lo.Hei.nuH430.
