New American Standard Bible 2020

The Bride’s Admiration

The Groom

1“I am the 12roseH2261 of 3SharonH8289, The 4lilyH7799 of the valleysH6010.”

The Bride

2“Like a lilyH7799 amongH996 the thornsH2336, SoH3651 is 5my darlingH7474 amongH996 the 6youngH1323 womenH1323.”

3“Like an 7appleH8598 treeH8598 among the treesH6086 of the forestH3293, SoH3651 is my belovedH1730 amongH996 the 8youngH1121 menH1121. In his shadeH6738 I tookH2530 great delightH2530 and satH3427 downH3427, And his 9fruitH6529 was sweetH4966 to my 10tasteH2441.4He has 11broughtH935 me to his 12banquetH3196 hallH1004, And his 13bannerH1714 overH5921 me is loveH160.5RefreshH5564 me with 14raisinH809 cakesH809, SustainH7502 me with 15applesH8598, BecauseH3588 16I am lovesickH2470H160.

The Groom

617His leftH8040 handH8040 is underH8478 my headH7218, And 18his rightH3225 handH3225 19embracesH2263 me.”

The Bride

7“20SwearH7650 to me, you 21daughtersH1323 of JerusalemH3389, By the 22gazellesH6643 orH176 by the 23doesH355 of the fieldH7704, 24That you will not disturbH5782 or awakenH5782 my loveH160 UntilH5704 she pleasesH2654.”

8“ListenH6963! My belovedH1730! BeholdH2009, he is comingH935, LeapingH1801 25on the mountainsH2022, JumpingH7092 on the hillsH1389!9My belovedH1730 isH1819 likeH1819 a 26gazelleH6643 orH176 a 27youngH6082 28stagH354. BeholdH2009, he is standingH5975 behindH310 our wallH3796, He is lookingH7688 throughH4480 the windowsH2474, He is peeringH6692 29throughH4480 the latticeH2762.

10“My belovedH1730 respondedH6030 and saidH559 to me, ‘30AriseH6965, my darlingH7474, my beautifulH3303 oneH3303, And comeH1980 along.11For beholdH2009, the winterH5638 isH5674 pastH5674, The rainH1653 is overH2498 and goneH1980.12The blossomsH5339 have already appearedH7200 in the landH776; The timeH6256 has arrivedH5060 for 31pruningH2159 the vines, And the voiceH6963 of the 32turtledoveH8449 has been heardH8085 in our landH776.

The Groom

13The 33figH8384 treeH8384 has ripenedH2590 its fruitH6291, And the 34vinesH1612 in blossomH5563 have givenH5414 forth their fragranceH7381. AriseH6965, my darlingH7474, my beautifulH3303 oneH3303, And comeH1980 along!’”

The Chorus

14“35My doveH3123, 36in the cleftsH2288 of the 37rockH5553, In the hidingH5643 placeH5643 of the mountainH4095 pathwayH4095, Let me seeH7200 38howH4758 you lookH4758, 39Let me hearH8085 your voiceH6963; For your voiceH6963 is pleasantH6156, And 40you lookH4758 41delightfulH5000.”

The Bride

15“42CatchH270 the 43foxesH7776 for us, The 44littleH6996 45foxesH7776 that are ruiningH2254 the vineyardsH3754, While our 46vineyardsH3754 are in blossomH5563.”

16“47My belovedH1730 is mine, and I am his; He 48pasturesH7462 his flock among the liliesH7799.1749UntilH5704 the coolH6315 of the dayH3117, when the shadowsH6738 fleeH5127, TurnH5437, my belovedH1730, and beH1819 likeH1819 a 50gazelleH6643 OrH176 a youngH6082 stagH354 51on the mountainsH2022 of 52BetherH1336.”
