Ezekiel 20:13-24

13But the houseH1004 of IsraelH3478 1rebelledH4784 against Me in the wildernessH4057. They did not walkH1980 in My statutesH2708 and they rejectedH3988 My ordinancesH4941, 2whichH834, if 3a personH120 4followsH6213 them, then he will liveH2421 by them; and they greatlyH3966 profanedH2490 My 5SabbathsH7676. Then I 6resolvedH559 to 7pourH8210 outH8210 My wrathH2534 on them in the wildernessH4057, to annihilateH3615 them. 14But I actedH6213 for the sakeH4616 of My nameH8034, so that it would not be defiledH2490 before the eyesH5869 of the nationsH1471, before whoseH834 eyesH5869 I had broughtH3318 them outH3318. 15AlsoH1571 8I sworeH5375H3027 to them in the wildernessH4057 that I would not bringH935 them into the landH776 whichH834 I had givenH5414 them, flowingH2100 with milkH2461 and honeyH1706, whichH1931 is the gloryH6643 of allH3605 the landsH776, 16becauseH3282 they rejectedH3988 My ordinancesH4941, and as for My statutesH2708, they did not walkH1980 in them; they also profanedH2490 My SabbathsH7676, becauseH3588 their 9heartH3820 continually followedH1980H310 their idolsH1544. 17Yet My eyeH5869 sparedH2347 them ratherH4480 thanH4480 destroyingH7843 them, and I did not bringH6213 aboutH6213 their 10annihilationH3617 in the wildernessH4057.

18“Instead, I saidH559 to their 1112childrenH1121 in the wildernessH4057, ‘13Do not walkH1980 in the statutesH2706 of your fathersH1 or keepH8104 their ordinancesH4941 or defileH2930 yourselves with their idolsH1544. 1914I am the LordH3068 your GodH430; 15walkH1980 in My statutesH2708 and keepH8104 My ordinancesH4941 and 16followH6213 them. 2017SanctifyH6942 My SabbathsH7676; and they shall be a signH226 betweenH996 Me and you, so that you may knowH3045 that I am the LordH3068 your GodH430.’ 21But the 18childrenH1121 rebelledH4784 against Me; they did not walkH1980 in My statutesH2708, norH3808 wereH8104 they carefulH8104 to 19followH6213 My ordinancesH4941 whichH834, if 20a personH120 21followsH6213 them, then he will liveH2421 by them; they profanedH2490 My SabbathsH7676. So I 22resolvedH559 to pourH8210 outH8210 My wrathH2534 on them, to 23useH3615 upH3615 My angerH639 against them in the wildernessH4057. 22But I 24withdrewH7725 My handH3027 and actedH6213 25for the sakeH4616 of My nameH8034, so that it would not be defiledH2490 in the sightH5869 of the nationsH1471 in whoseH834 sightH5869 I had broughtH3318 them outH3318. 23AlsoH1571 I sworeH5375H3027 to them in the wildernessH4057 that I would 26scatterH6327 them among the nationsH1471 and disperseH2219 them among the landsH776, 24becauseH3282 they had not 27compliedH6213 withH6213 My ordinancesH4941, but had rejectedH3988 My statutesH2708 and had profanedH2490 My SabbathsH7676, and 28their eyesH5869 were 29on the idolsH1544 of their fathersH1.
