Song of Songs 5:6-15
6I opened to my beloved, But my beloved had 1turned away and had gone! My 2heart went out to him as he 3spoke. I 4searched for him but I did not find him; I 5called him but he did not answer me.7The 6watchmen who make the rounds in the city found me, They struck me and wounded me; The guards of the walls took my shawl away from me.87Swear to me, you daughters of Jerusalem, If you find my beloved, As to what you will tell him: For 8I am lovesick.”
9“9What kind of beloved is your beloved, O 10most beautiful among women? 11What kind of beloved is your beloved, That you make us swear in this way?”
10“My beloved is dazzling and 1213reddish, 14Outstanding among ten thousand.11His head is like gold, pure gold; His 15locks are like clusters of dates And black as a raven.12His 16eyes are like doves Beside streams of water, Bathed in milk, And perched in their 17setting.13His cheeks are like a 18bed of balsam, 19Banks of herbal spices; His lips are 20lilies 21Dripping with drops of myrrh.14His hands are rods of gold Set with 22topaz; His abdomen is panels of ivory Covered with 2324sapphires.15His thighs are pillars of alabaster Set on pedestals of pure gold; His appearance is like 25Lebanon, Choice as the 26cedars.
