Song of Songs 1:6-9

6Do not stare at me because I am 1dark, For the sun has tanned me. My 2mother’s sons were angry with me; They made me 3caretaker of the vineyards, But I have not taken care of my own vineyard.7Tell me, you 4whom my soul loves, Where do you 5pasture your flock, Where do you have it 6lie down at noon? For why should I be like one who 7veils herself Beside the flocks of your 8companions?”

8“If you yourself do not know, 9Most beautiful among women, Go out on the trail of the flock, And pasture your young goats By the tents of the shepherds.

9“10To me, 11my darling, you are like My 12mare among the chariots of Pharaoh.
