Song of Songs 1:1-6

11The 2Song of 3Songs, which is Solomon’s.

2“May he kiss me with the kisses of his mouth! For your 4love is 5sweeter than wine.3Your 6oils have a pleasing fragrance, Your 7name is like 8purified oil; Therefore the 910young women love you.4Draw me after you and let’s run together! The 11king has brought me into his chambers.” The Chorus “We will rejoice in you and be joyful; We will praise your 12love more than wine. Rightly do they love you.”

5“I am black and 13beautiful, You 14daughters of Jerusalem, Like the 15tents of 16Kedar, Like the curtains of Solomon.6Do not stare at me because I am 17dark, For the sun has tanned me. My 18mother’s sons were angry with me; They made me 19caretaker of the vineyards, But I have not taken care of my own vineyard.
