Romans 6:15-23

15What then? 1Are we to sin because we are not under 2the Law but under grace? 34Far from it! 16Do you not 5know that the one to whom you present yourselves as 6slaves for obedience, you are slaves of that same one whom you obey, either of 7sin 8resulting in death, or of obedience 9resulting in righteousness? 17But 10thanks be to God that 11though you were slaves of sin, you became obedient from the heart to that 1213form of teaching to which you were entrusted, 18and after being 14freed from sin, you became slaves to righteousness. 1915I am speaking 16in human terms because of the weakness of your flesh. For just 17as you presented 18the parts of your body as slaves to impurity and to lawlessness, 19resulting in further lawlessness, so now present 20your body’s parts as slaves to righteousness, 21resulting in sanctification.

20For 22when you were slaves of sin, you were free in relation to righteousness. 21Therefore what 2324benefit were you then 25deriving from the things of which you are now ashamed? For the outcome of those things is 26death. 22But now having been 27freed from sin and 28enslaved to God, you 29derive your 3031benefit, 32resulting in sanctification, and 33the outcome, eternal life. 23For the wages of 34sin is death, but the gracious gift of God is 35eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
