Romans 5:7-21
7For one will hardly die for a righteous person; 1though perhaps for the good person someone would even dare to die. 8But God 2demonstrates 3His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, 4Christ died for us. 9Much more then, having now been justified 56by His blood, we shall be saved 7from the wrath of God through Him. 10For if while we were 8enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved 910by His life. 1111And not only this, but 12we also celebrate in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received 13the reconciliation.
12Therefore, just as through 14one man sin entered into the world, and 15death through sin, and 16so death spread to all mankind, because all sinned-- 13for 17until the Law sin was in the world, but 18sin is not 19counted against anyone when there is no law. 14Nevertheless death reigned from Adam until Moses, even over those who had not sinned 20in the likeness of the 21violation committed by Adam, who is a 2223type of Him who was to come.
15But 24the gracious gift is not like the offense. For if by the offense of 25the one 26the many died, much more did the grace of God and the gift by 27the grace of the one Man, Jesus Christ, overflow to the many. 16The gift is not like that which came through the one who sinned; for on the one hand 28the judgment arose from one offense, 29resulting in condemnation, but on the other hand the gracious gift arose from many offenses, 30resulting in justification. 17For if by the offense of the one, death reigned 31through the one, much more will those who receive the abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness 32reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.
18So then, as through 33one offense 34the result was condemnation to all mankind, so also through one 35act of righteousness 36the result was 37justification of life to all mankind. 19For as through the one man’s disobedience 38the many 39were made sinners, so also through 40the obedience of the One 41the many will be made righteous. 204243The Law came in so that the offense would increase; but where sin increased, 44grace abounded all the more, 21so that, as 45sin reigned in death, so also 46grace would reign through righteousness to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
