2“I was asleepיְשֵׁנָ֖הye.she.NahH3463but my heartוְלִבִּ֣יve.li.BiH3820was awakeעֵ֑ר'ErH5782.A voiceק֣וֹל׀KolH6963!My belovedדּוֹדִ֣יdo.DiH1730was knockingדוֹפֵ֗קdo.FekH1849: ‘Openפִּתְחִי־pit.chi-H6605to me,my sisterאֲחֹתִ֤י'a.cho.TiH269,my darlingרַעְיָתִי֙ra'.ya.TiH7474,My doveיוֹנָתִ֣יyo.na.TiH3123,my perfectתַמָּתִ֔יta.ma.TiH8535oneH8535!For my headשֶׁרֹּאשִׁי֙she.ro.ShiH7218isdrenchedנִמְלָא־nim.la'-H4390with dewטָ֔לTalH2919, Mylocksקְוֻּצּוֹתַ֖יke.vu.tzo.TaiH6977with the dewH7447dropsH7447of the nightלָֽיְלָה׃La.ye.lahH3915.’

3I havetakenH6584offH6584my dressכֻּתָּנְתִּ֔יku.ta.ne.TiH3801,HowH351can I putאֶלְבָּשֶׁ֑נָּה'el.ba.She.nahH3847it onH3847again? I havewashedרָחַ֥צְתִּיra.Chatz.tiH7364my feetרַגְלַ֖יrag.LaiH7272,HowH351can I dirtyאֲטַנְּפֵֽם׃'a.ta.ne.FemH2936them again?

4My belovedדּוֹדִ֗יdo.DiH1730extendedשָׁלַ֤חsha.LachH7971his handיָדוֹ֙ya.DoH3027throughמִן־min-H4480the openingהַחֹ֔רha.ChorH2356, And myfeelingsוּמֵעַ֖יu.me.'AiH4578were stirredהָמ֥וּha.MuH1993for him.

5I aroseקַ֥מְתִּֽיKam.tiH6965to openלִפְתֹּ֣חַlif.To.achH6605to my belovedלְדוֹדִ֑יle.do.DiH1730;And my handsוְיָדַ֣יve.ya.DaiH3027drippedנָֽטְפוּ־na.te.fu-H5197with myrrhמ֗וֹרMorH4753,And my fingersוְאֶצְבְּעֹתַי֙ve.'etz.be.'o.TaiH676with dropsעֹבֵ֔ר'o.VerH5674of myrrhמ֣וֹרMorH4753,On the handlesכַּפּ֥וֹתka.PotH3709of the boltהַמַּנְעֽוּל׃ha.man.'UlH4514.

6I openedפָּתַ֤חְתִּֽיpa.Tach.tiH6605to my belovedלְדוֹדִ֔יle.do.DiH1730,But my belovedוְדוֹדִ֖יve.do.DiH1730hadturnedH2559awayH2559andhad goneעָבָ֑ר'a.VarH5674! 7Thewatchmenהַשֹּׁמְרִ֛יםha.sho.me.RimH8104who makeH5437the roundsH5437in the cityבָּעִ֖ירba.'IrH5892foundמְצָאֻ֧נִיme.tza.'U.niH4672me,They struckהִכּ֣וּנִיhi.Ku.niH5221me andwoundedפְצָע֑וּנִיfe.tza.'U.niH6481me;The guardsשֹׁמְרֵ֖יsho.me.ReiH8104of the wallsהַחֹמֽוֹת׃ha.cho.MotH2346tookH5375my shawlרְדִידִי֙re.di.DiH7289awayH5375from me.

8Swearהִשְׁבַּ֥עְתִּיhish.Ba'.tiH7650to me, you daughtersבְּנ֣וֹתbe.NotH1323of Jerusalemיְרוּשָׁלִָ֑םye.ru.sha.LimH3389,Ifאִֽם־'im-H518you findתִּמְצְאוּ֙tim.tze.'UH4672my belovedדּוֹדִ֔יdo.DiH1730,As to whatמַה־mah-H4100you will tellתַּגִּ֣ידוּta.Gi.duH5046him: ForI am lovesickשֶׁחוֹלַ֥ת אַהֲבָ֖הshe.cho.Lat 'a.ha.VahH2470 H160.”
