God’s Judgment Unavoidable

1I sawרָאִ֨יתִיra.'I.tiH7200the Lordאֲדֹנָ֜י'a.do.NaiH136standingנִצָּ֣בni.TzavH5324besideעַֽל־'al-H5921thealtarהַמִּזְבֵּ֗חַha.miz.Be.achH4196,and He saidוַיֹּאמֶר֩vai.yo.MerH559, “Strikeהַ֨ךְhakhH5221the pillarH3730capitalsH3730so that thethresholdsהַסִּפִּ֗יםha.si.PimH5592will shakeוְיִרְעֲשׁ֣וּve.yir.'a.ShuH7493, Andbreakוּבְצַ֙עַם֙u.ve.Tza.'amH1214them on the headsבְּרֹ֣אשׁbe.RoshH7218of them allכֻּלָּ֔םku.LamH3605! Then I willputH2026toH2026deathH2026the restוְאַחֲרִיתָ֖םve.'a.cha.ri.TamH319of them with the swordבַּחֶ֣רֶבba.Che.revH2719; They willnot have a fugitiveיָנ֤וּסya.NusH5127who will fleeנָ֔סNasH5127,NorH3808a survivorפָּלִֽיט׃pa.LitH6412who will escapeיִמָּלֵ֥טyi.ma.LetH4422.

2Thoughאִם־'im-H518they digיַחְתְּר֣וּyach.te.RuH2864intoSheolבִשְׁא֔וֹלvish.'olH7585,From thereמִשָּׁ֖םmi.ShamH8033My handיָדִ֣יya.DiH3027will takeתִקָּחֵ֑םti.ka.ChemH3947them;And thoughוְאִֽם־ve.'im-H518theyascendיַעֲלוּ֙ya.'a.LuH5927to heavenהַשָּׁמַ֔יִםha.sha.Ma.yimH8064,From thereמִשָּׁ֖םmi.ShamH8033I will bringאוֹרִידֵֽם׃'o.ri.DemH3381them downH3381.

3And thoughוְאִם־ve.'im-H518they hideיֵחָֽבְאוּ֙ye.cha.ve.'UH2244on the summitבְּרֹ֣אשׁbe.RoshH7218of Carmelהַכַּרְמֶ֔לha.kar.MelH3760, I willtrackH2664them downH2664and takeוּלְקַחְתִּ֑יםu.le.kach.TimH3947them from thereמִשָּׁ֥םmi.ShamH8033;And thoughוְאִם־ve.'im-H518theyhideיִסָּ֨תְר֜וּyi.Sa.te.RuH5641themselves from My sightעֵינַי֙'ei.NaiH5869on the bottomבְּקַרְקַ֣עbe.kar.Ka'H7172of the seaהַיָּ֔םhai.YamH3220,I will commandאֲצַוֶּ֥ה'a.tza.VehH6680theserpentהַנָּחָ֖שׁha.na.ChashH5175from thereמִשָּׁ֛םmi.ShamH8033,and it will biteוּנְשָׁכָֽם׃u.ne.sha.KhamH5391them.

4And thoughוְאִם־ve.'im-H518they goיֵלְכ֤וּye.le.KhuH1980intocaptivityבַשְּׁבִי֙va.she.ViH7628beforeלִפְנֵ֣יlif.NeiH6440their enemiesH340,From thereמִשָּׁ֛םmi.ShamH8033I will commandאֲצַוֶּ֥ה'a.tza.VehH6680the swordהַחֶ֖רֶבha.Che.revH2719and it will killוַהֲרָגָ֑תַםva.ha.ra.Ga.tamH2026them, And I willsetוְשַׂמְתִּ֨יve.sam.TiH7760My eyesעֵינִ֧י'ei.NiH5869againstעֲלֵיהֶ֛ם'a.lei.HemH5921them for harmH7463and not for goodH2899.”

5The Lordוַאדֹנָ֨יva.do.NaiH136GodH3068of armiesהַצְּבָא֗וֹתha.tze.va.'otH6635, The One whotouchesהַנּוֹגֵ֤עַha.no.Ge.a'H5060the landבָּאָ֙רֶץ֙ba.'A.retzH776so that it quakesוַתָּמ֔וֹגva.ta.MogH4127, Andallכָּל־kol-H3605those who liveי֣וֹשְׁבֵיYo.o.she.veiH3427in it mournוְאָבְל֖וּve.'a.ve.LuH56,And allכֻּלָּ֔הּku.LahH3605of it risesH5927upH5927like the Nileכַיְאֹר֙khay.'OrH2975And subsidesוְשָׁקְעָ֖הve.sha.ke.'AhH8257like the Nileכִּיאֹ֥רki.'OrH2975of Egyptמִצְרָֽיִםmitz.Ra.yimH4714;

6The One who buildsהַבּוֹנֶ֤הha.bo.NehH1129HisupperH5944chambersH5944in the heavensבַשָּׁמַ֙יִם֙va.sha.Ma.yimH8064And has foundedיְסָדָ֑הּye.sa.DahH3245His vaultedH92domeH92overH5921the earthאֶ֣רֶץ'E.retzH776, He whocallsהַקֹּרֵ֣אha.ko.Re'H7121for the watersלְמֵֽי־le.mei-H4325of the seaהַיָּ֗םhai.YamH3220Andpoursוַֽיִּשְׁפְּכֵ֛םvai.yish.pe.KhemH8210them outH8210on the faceפְּנֵ֥יpe.NeiH6440of the earthהָאָ֖רֶץha.'A.retzH776,The Lordיְהוָ֥הYah.wehH3068is His nameשְׁמֽוֹ׃she.MoH8034.

7“Are you not as the sonsכִבְנֵי֩khiv.NeiH1121ofEthiopiaכֻשִׁיִּ֨יםkhu.shi.YimH3569to Me,You sonsבְּנֵ֥יbe.NeiH1121of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֖לYis.ra.'ElH3478?”declaresנְאֻם־ne.'um-H5002the Lordיְהוָ֑הYah.wehH3068. “Have I not broughtהֶעֱלֵ֙יתִי֙he.'e.Lei.tiH5927upH5927Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֗לYis.ra.'ElH3478from the landמֵאֶ֣רֶץme.'E.retzH776of Egyptמִצְרַ֔יִםmitz.Ra.yimH4714, And thePhilistinesוּפְלִשְׁתִּיִּ֥יםu.fe.lish.ti.YimH6430from Caphtorמִכַּפְתּ֖וֹרmi.kaf.TorH3731and theArameansוַאֲרָ֥םva.'a.RamH758fromKirמִקִּֽיר׃mi.KirH7024?

8Beholdהִנֵּ֞הhi.NehH2009, theeyesעֵינֵ֣י׀'ei.NeiH5869of the Lordאֲדֹנָ֣י'a.do.NaiH136 GodH3068are on the sinfulהַֽחַטָּאָ֔הha.cha.ta.'AhH2400kingdomבַּמַּמְלָכָה֙ba.mam.la.KhahH4467, And I willeliminateוְהִשְׁמַדְתִּ֣יve.hish.mad.TiH8045it from the faceפְּנֵ֣יpe.NeiH6440of the earthהָאֲדָמָ֑הha.'a.da.MahH127;Neverthelessאֶ֗פֶס כִּ֠י'E.fes kiH657 H3588, I willnot totallyהַשְׁמֵ֥ידhash.MeidH8045eliminateאַשְׁמִ֛יד'ash.MidH8045the houseבֵּ֥יתbeitH1004of Jacobיַעֲקֹ֖בya.'a.KoH3290,”Declaresנְאֻם־ne.'um-H5002the LordH3068.

9“For beholdהִנֵּ֤הhi.NehH2009,I am commandingמְצַוֶּ֔הme.tza.VehH6680, And I willshakeוַהֲנִע֥וֹתִיva.ha.ni.'o.tiH5128the houseבֵּ֣יתbeitH1004of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֑לYis.ra.'ElH3478among allבְכָֽל־ve.khal-H3605nationsהַגּוֹיִ֖םha.go.YimH1471As grainis shakenיִנּ֙וֹעַ֙yi.No.a'H5128in a sieveבַּכְּבָרָ֔הba.ke.va.RahH3531,But not a pebbleצְר֖וֹרtze.RorH6872will fallיִפּ֥וֹלyi.PolH5307to the groundאָֽרֶץ׃'A.retzH776.

10Allכֹּ֖לkolH3605thesinnersחַטָּאֵ֣יcha.ta.'EiH2400of My peopleעַמִּ֑י'a.MiH5971will dieיָמ֔וּתוּya.Mu.tuH4191by the swordבַּחֶ֣רֶבba.Che.revH2719,Those who sayהָאֹמְרִ֗יםha.'o.me.RimH559, ‘The catastropheH7463will not overtakeתַגִּ֧ישׁta.GishH5066or confrontוְתַקְדִּ֛יםve.tak.DimH6923us.’

11“On that dayבַּיּ֣וֹםbai.YomH3117I willraiseאָקִ֛ים'a.KimH6965upH6965the fallenהַנֹּפֶ֑לֶתha.no.Fe.letH5307shelterסֻכַּ֥תsu.KatH5521of Davidדָּוִ֖ידda.VidH1732,And wallוְגָדַרְתִּ֣יve.ga.dar.TiH1443upH1443itsgapsפִּרְצֵיהֶ֗ןpir.tzei.HenH6556;I will also raiseאָקִ֔ים'a.KimH6965upH6965its ruinsוַהֲרִֽסֹתָיו֙va.ha.ri.so.TavH2034And rebuildוּבְנִיתִ֖יהָu.ve.ni.Ti.haH1129it as in thedaysכִּימֵ֥יki.MeiH3117of oldעוֹלָֽם׃o.LamH5769;

12Soלְמַ֨עַןle.Ma.'anH4616thatH4616they maypossessיִֽירְשׁ֜וּyi.re.ShuH3423the remnantשְׁאֵרִ֤יתshe.'e.RitH7611ofEdomH112And allוְכָל־ve.kholH3605thenationsהַגּוֹיִ֔םha.go.YimH1471whoאֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834arecalledנִקְרָ֥אnik.Ra'H7121by My nameשְׁמִ֖יshe.MiH8034,”Declaresנְאֻם־ne.'um-H5002the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068who doesעֹ֥שֶׂה'O.sehH6213thisH2088.

13“Beholdהִנֵּ֨הhi.NehH2009,daysיָמִ֤יםya.MimH3117are comingבָּאִים֙ba.'ImH935,”declaresנְאֻם־ne.'um-H5002the Lordיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068, “When theplowmanחוֹרֵשׁ֙cho.ReshH2790will overtakeוְנִגַּ֤שׁve.ni.GashH5066the reaperבַּקֹּצֵ֔רba.ko.TzerH7114,And the one who treadsוְדֹרֵ֥ךְve.do.RekhH1869grapesעֲנָבִ֖ים'a.na.VimH6025will overtakehim who sowsבְּמֹשֵׁ֣ךְbe.mo.ShekhH4900the seedהַזָּ֑רַעha.Za.ra'H2233; When themountainsהֶֽהָרִים֙he.ha.RimH2022will dripוְהִטִּ֤יפוּve.hi.Ti.fuH5197grapeH6071juiceH6071,And allוְכָל־ve.kholH3605the hillsהַגְּבָע֖וֹתha.ge.va.'otH1389will comeH4127apartH4127.

14I will alsorestoreוְשַׁבְתִּי֮ve.shav.TiH7725the fortunesשְׁב֣וּתshe.VutH7622of My peopleעַמִּ֣י'a.MiH5971Israelיִשְׂרָאֵל֒Yis.ra.'ElH3478, And they willrebuildוּבָנ֞וּu.va.NuH1129the desolatedנְשַׁמּוֹת֙ne.sha.mOtH8074citiesעָרִ֤ים'a.RimH5892and liveוְיָשָׁ֔בוּve.ya.Sha.vuH3427in them; They will alsoplantוְנָטְע֣וּve.na.te.'UH5193vineyardsכְרָמִ֔יםkhe.ra.MimH3754and drinkוְשָׁת֖וּve.sha.TuH8354their wineיֵינָ֑םyei.NamH3196,And makeוְעָשׂ֣וּve.'a.SuH6213gardensגַנּ֔וֹתga.NotH1593and eatוְאָכְל֖וּve.'a.khe.LuH398their fruitפְּרִיהֶֽם׃pe.ri.HemH6529.

15I will also plantוּנְטַעְתִּ֖יםu.ne.ta'.TimH5193them on their landאַדְמָתָ֑ם'ad.ma.TamH127, Andthey will not be uprootedיִנָּתְשׁ֜וּyi.na.te.ShuH5428againע֗וֹדodH5750from their landאַדְמָתָם֙'ad.ma.TamH127Whichאֲשֶׁ֣ר'a.SherH834I have givenנָתַ֣תִּיna.Ta.tiH5414them,”Saysאָמַ֖ר'a.MarH559the Lordיְהוָ֥הYah.wehH3068your Godאֱלֹהֶֽיךָ׃'e.lo.Hei.khaH430.
