John 3:27-35
27John replied, “1A person can receive not even one thing unless it 2has been given to him from heaven. 28You yourselves 3are my witnesses that I said, ‘4I am not the 5Christ,’ but, ‘I have been sent ahead of Him.’ 29He who has the bride is 6the groom; but the friend of the groom, who stands and listens to him, rejoices greatly because of the groom’s voice. So this 7joy of mine has been made full. 30He must 8increase, but I must 9decrease.
31“10He who comes from above is above all; 11the one who is only from the earth is of the earth and speaks of the earth. 12He who comes from heaven is above all. 32What He has seen and heard, of this He 13testifies; and 14no one accepts His testimony. 33The one who has accepted His testimony 15has certified that God is true. 34For He whom God 16sent speaks the words of God; 17for He does not give the Spirit 18sparingly. 3519The Father loves the Son and 20has entrusted all things to His hand.
