Isaiah 13:17-22

17Behold, I am going to 1stir up the Medes against them, Who will not value silver or 2take pleasure in gold.18And their bows will 3mow down the 4young men, They will not even have compassion on the fruit of the womb, Nor will their 5eye pity 6children.19And 7Babylon, the 8beauty of kingdoms, the glory of the Chaldeans’ pride, Will be as when God 9overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah.20It will 10never be inhabited or lived in from generation to generation; Nor will the 11Arab pitch his tent there, Nor will shepherds allow their flocks to lie down there.21But 12desert creatures will lie down there, And their houses will be full of 13owls; Ostriches also will live there, and 14shaggy goats will frolic there.2215Hyenas will howl in their fortified towers And jackals in their luxurious 16palaces. Her fateful time also 17will soon come, And her days will not be prolonged.
