Hebrews 2:1-10

1For this reason we must pay much closer attention to 1what we have heard, so that 2we do not drift away from it. 2For if the word 3spoken through 4angels proved 5unalterable, and 6every violation and act of disobedience received a just 78punishment, 39how will we escape if we neglect so great a 10salvation? 11After it was at first 12spoken through the Lord, it was 13confirmed to us by those who heard, 4God also testifying with them, both by 14signs and wonders, and by 15various 16miracles and by 1718gifts of the Holy Spirit 19according to His own will.

5For He did not subject to angels 2021the world to come, about which we are speaking. 6But someone has testified 22somewhere, saying, “23What is man, that You think of him? Or a son of man, that You are concerned about him?724You have made him 25for a little while lower than angels; You have crowned him with glory and honor26;827You have put everything in subjection under his feet.” For in subjecting all things to him, He left nothing that is not subject to him. But now 28we do not yet see all things subjected to him. 9But we do see Him who was 29made 30for a little while lower than the angels, namely, Jesus, 31because of His suffering death 32crowned with glory and honor, so that 33by the grace of God He might 34taste death 35for everyone.

10For 36it was fitting for Him, 37for whom are all things, and through whom are all things, in bringing many sons to glory, to 38perfect the 3940originator of their salvation through sufferings.
