Genesis 9:8-16

Then God spoke to Noah and to his sons with him, saying,

“Now behold, 1I Myself am establishing My covenant with you, and with your 2descendants after you;

and with every living creature that is with you: the birds, the livestock, and every animal of the earth with you; of all that comes out of the ark, every animal of the earth.

I establish My covenant with you; and all flesh shall 3never again be eliminated by the waters of a flood, 4nor shall there again be a flood to destroy the earth.”

God said, “This is 5the sign of the covenant which I am making between Me and you and every living creature that is with you, for 6all future generations;

I have set My 7rainbow in the cloud, and it shall 8serve as a sign of a covenant between Me and the earth.

It shall come about, when I make a cloud appear over the earth, that the rainbow will be seen in the cloud,

and 9I will remember My covenant, which is between Me and you and every living creature of all flesh; and 10never again shall the water become a flood to destroy all flesh.

When the rainbow is in the cloud, then I will look at it, to remember the 11everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is on the earth.”
