Genesis 22:11-18
11But 1the angel of the Lord called to him from heaven and said, “Abraham, Abraham!” And he said, “Here I am.” 12He said, “Do not reach out your hand against the boy, and do not do anything to him; for now 2I know that you 3fear God, since you have not withheld 4your son, your only son, from Me.” 13Then Abraham raised his eyes and looked, and behold, behind him was a ram caught in the thicket by its horns; and Abraham went and took the ram and offered it up as a burnt offering in the place of his son. 14And Abraham named that place 5The Lord Will Provide, as it is said to this day, “On the mountain of the Lord 6it will 7be provided.”
15Then the angel of the Lord called to Abraham a second time from heaven, 16and said, “8By Myself I have sworn, declares the Lord, because you have done this thing and have not withheld your son, your only son, 17indeed I will greatly bless you, and I will greatly 9multiply your 10seed as the stars of the heavens and as 11the sand, which is on the seashore; and 12your 13seed shall possess the gate of 14their enemies. 18And 15in your 16seed all the nations of the earth shall 17be blessed, because you have 18obeyed My voice.”
