Genesis 15:4-8
4Then behold, the word of the Lord came to him, saying, “This man will not be your heir; 1but one who will come from your own 2body shall be your heir.”
5And He took him outside and said, “Now look toward the heavens and 3count the stars, if you are able to count them.” And He said to him, “4So shall your 5descendants be.”
66Then he believed in the Lord; and He 7credited it to him as righteousness.
7And He said to him, “I am the Lord who brought you out of 8Ur of the Chaldeans, to 9give you this land to 10possess it.”
8But he said, “Lord 11God, 12how may I know that I will 13possess it?”
