Genesis 1:1-8
11In the beginning 2God 3created the heavens and the earth. 2And the earth was a 45formless and desolate emptiness, and 6darkness was over the 7surface of the deep, and 8the Spirit of God 9was hovering over the 10surface of the waters. 3Then 11God said, “12Let there be light”; and there was light. 4God saw that the light was 13good; and God 14separated the light from the darkness. 515God called the light “day,” and the darkness He called “night.” And 16there was evening and there was morning, one day.
6Then God said, “Let there be 17an 18expanse in the midst of the waters, and let it separate the waters from the waters.” 7God made the 19expanse, and separated 20the waters that were below the 21expanse from the waters 22that were above the 23expanse; and it was so. 8God called the 24expanse “heaven.” And there was evening and there was morning, a second day.
