Exodus 34:15-35
otherwise you might make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land, and they would prostitute themselves with their gods and 1sacrifice to their gods, and someone 2might invite you 3to eat of his sacrifice, 16and 4you might take some of his daughters for your sons, and his daughters might prostitute themselves with their gods and cause your sons also to prostitute themselves with their gods. 175You shall not make for yourself any gods cast in metal.
“You shall keep 6the Feast of Unleavened Bread. For 7seven days you are to eat unleavened bread, 8as I commanded you, at the appointed time in the 9month of Abib; for in the month of Abib you came out of Egypt.
“10The 11firstborn from every womb belongs to Me, and all your male livestock, the 12firstborn from 13cattle and sheep. 2014You shall redeem with a lamb the firstborn from a donkey; and if you do not redeem it, then you shall break its neck. You shall redeem 15all the firstborn of your sons. 1617None are to appear before Me empty-handed.
“You shall work 18six days, but on the seventh day you shall rest; even during plowing time and harvest you shall rest. 22And you shall celebrate 19the Feast of Weeks, that is, the first fruits of the wheat harvest, and the Feast of Ingathering at the turn of the year. 2320Three times a year all your males are to appear before the Lord 21God, the God of Israel. 24For I will 2223drive out nations from you and enlarge your borders, and no one will covet your land when you go up three times a year to appear before the Lord your God.
“24You shall not 25offer the blood of My sacrifice with leavened bread, 26nor is the sacrifice of the Feast of the Passover to 27be left over until morning.
“You shall bring 28the very first of the first fruits of your soil into the house of the Lord your God.
“You shall not boil a young goat in its mother’s milk.”
Then the Lord said to Moses, “29Write 30down these words, for in accordance with these words I have made 31a covenant with you and with Israel.” 28So he was there with the Lord for 32forty days and forty nights; he did not eat bread or drink water. And 3334He wrote on the tablets the words of the covenant, 35the Ten 36Commandments.
And it came about, when Moses was coming down from Mount Sinai (and the 37two tablets of the testimony were in Moses’ hand as he was coming down from the mountain), that Moses did not know that 38the skin of his face shone because of his speaking with Him. 30So when Aaron and all the sons of Israel saw Moses, behold, the skin of his face shone, and 39they were afraid to approach him. 31Then Moses called to them, and Aaron and all the rulers in the congregation returned to him; and Moses spoke to them. 32Afterward all the sons of Israel came near, and he commanded them to do everything that the Lord had spoken 40to him on Mount Sinai. 33When Moses had finished speaking with them, 41he put a veil over his face. 34But whenever Moses went in before the Lord to speak with Him, 42he would take off the veil until he came out; and whenever he came out and spoke to the sons of Israel what he had been commanded, 3543the sons of Israel would see the face of Moses, that the skin of Moses’ face shone. So Moses would put the veil back over his face until he went in to speak with Him.
