Exodus 20:2-7

2“1I am the Lord your God, 2who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of 3slavery.

3“4You shall have no other 5gods 6before Me.

4“7You shall not make for yourself 8an idol, or any likeness of what is in heaven above or on the earth beneath, or in the water under the earth. 5 9You shall not worship them nor serve them; for I, the Lord your God, am a 10jealous God, 11inflicting the 12punishment of the fathers on the children, on the third and the fourth generations of those who hate Me, 6but showing 13favor to 14thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments.

7“15You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain, for the Lord will not 16leave him unpunished who takes His name in vain.
