Exodus 2:11-14
Now it came about in those days, 1when Moses had grown up, that he went out to his 2fellow Hebrews and looked at their 34hard labors; and 5he saw an Egyptian beating a Hebrew, one of his 6fellow Hebrews.
So he 7looked this way and that, and when he saw that there was no one around, he 8struck and killed the Egyptian, and hid 9his body in the sand.
Now he went out 10the next day, and behold, two Hebrews were 11fighting with each other; and he said to the 12offender, “Why are you striking your companion?”
But he said, “13Who made you a 14ruler and a judge over us? Do you 15intend to kill me as you killed the Egyptian?” Then Moses was afraid and said, “Surely the matter has become known!”
