Ephesians 4:8-13

8Therefore 1it says, “2When He ascended on high, He 3led captive the captives, And He gave gifts to people.” 9(Now this expression, “He 4ascended,” what 5does it mean except that He also 6had descended into 7the lower parts of the earth? 10He who descended is Himself also He who ascended 8far above all the heavens, so that He might 9fill all things.) 11And He 10gave 11some as apostles, some as prophets, some as 12evangelists, some as 13pastors and 14teachers, 12 15for the equipping of the 16saints for the work of ministry, for the building up of 17the body of Christ; 13until we all attain to 18the unity of the faith, and of the 19 20knowledge of the Son of God, to a 21mature man, to the measure of the stature 22which belongs to the 23fullness of Christ.
