Colossians 1:9-29

9For this reason we also, 1since the day we heard about it, 2have not ceased praying for you and asking that you may be filled with the 34knowledge of His will in all spiritual 5wisdom and understanding, 10so that you will 6walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, 78to please Him in all respects, 9bearing fruit in every good work and 10increasing in the 11knowledge of God; 1112strengthened with all power, according to 13His glorious might, 14for the attaining of all perseverance and 15patience; 16joyously 12giving thanks to 17the Father, who has qualified us 18to share in 19the inheritance of the 20saints in 21light. 1322For He rescued us from the 2324domain of darkness, and transferred us to the kingdom of 2526His beloved Son, 1427in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.

1528He is the 29image of the 30invisible God, the 31firstborn of all creation: 16for 3233by Him all things were created, 34both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether 35thrones, or dominions, or rulers, or authorities--36all things have been created through Him and for Him. 17He 3738is before all things, and in Him all things 39hold together. 18He is also the 40head of 41the body, the church; and He is 42the beginning, 43the firstborn from the dead, so that He Himself will come to have first place in everything. 19For 44it was 45the Father’s good pleasure for all 46the 47fullness to dwell in Him, 20and through Him to 48reconcile all things to Himself, 49whether things on earth or things in 50heaven, having made 51peace through 52the blood of His cross.

21And although you were 53previously alienated and hostile in attitude, engaged in evil deeds, 22yet He has now 54reconciled you in His 55body of flesh through death, in order to 56present you before Him 57holy and blameless and beyond reproach-- 23if indeed you continue in 58the faith firmly 59established and steadfast, and not shifting from the 60hope of the gospel that you have heard, which was proclaimed 61in all creation under heaven, 62and of which I, Paul, 63was made a 6465minister.

2466Now I rejoice in my sufferings for your sake, and in my flesh 67I am supplementing what is lacking 68in Christ’s afflictions in behalf of 69His body, which is the church. 2570I 71was made a minister of this church according to the 72commission from God granted to me for your benefit, so that I might 73fully carry out the preaching of the word of God, 26that is, 74the mystery which had been hidden from the past ages and generations, but now has been revealed to His 75saints, 27to whom 76God willed to make known what 77the wealth of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles is, the mystery that is 78Christ in you, the 79hope of glory. 28We proclaim Him, 80admonishing every person and teaching every person 81with all 82wisdom, so that we may 83present every person 8485complete in Christ. 29For this purpose I also 86labor, 87striving 88according to His 89power which 90works mightily within me.
