Colossians 1:15-29

151He is the 2image of the 3invisible God, the 4firstborn of all creation: 16for 56by Him all things were created, 7both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether 8thrones, or dominions, or rulers, or authorities--9all things have been created through Him and for Him. 17He 1011is before all things, and in Him all things 12hold together. 18He is also the 13head of 14the body, the church; and He is 15the beginning, 16the firstborn from the dead, so that He Himself will come to have first place in everything. 19For 17it was 18the Father’s good pleasure for all 19the 20fullness to dwell in Him, 20and through Him to 21reconcile all things to Himself, 22whether things on earth or things in 23heaven, having made 24peace through 25the blood of His cross.

21And although you were 26previously alienated and hostile in attitude, engaged in evil deeds, 22yet He has now 27reconciled you in His 28body of flesh through death, in order to 29present you before Him 30holy and blameless and beyond reproach-- 23if indeed you continue in 31the faith firmly 32established and steadfast, and not shifting from the 33hope of the gospel that you have heard, which was proclaimed 34in all creation under heaven, 35and of which I, Paul, 36was made a 3738minister.

2439Now I rejoice in my sufferings for your sake, and in my flesh 40I am supplementing what is lacking 41in Christ’s afflictions in behalf of 42His body, which is the church. 2543I 44was made a minister of this church according to the 45commission from God granted to me for your benefit, so that I might 46fully carry out the preaching of the word of God, 26that is, 47the mystery which had been hidden from the past ages and generations, but now has been revealed to His 48saints, 27to whom 49God willed to make known what 50the wealth of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles is, the mystery that is 51Christ in you, the 52hope of glory. 28We proclaim Him, 53admonishing every person and teaching every person 54with all 55wisdom, so that we may 56present every person 5758complete in Christ. 29For this purpose I also 59labor, 60striving 61according to His 62power which 63works mightily within me.
