2 Timothy 2:19-26
19Nevertheless, the 1firm foundation of God stands, having this 2seal: “3The Lord knows those who are His;” and, “4Everyone who names the name of the Lord is to keep away from wickedness.”
20Now in a large house there are not only gold and silver implements, but also implements of wood and of earthenware, and 5some are for honor while others are for dishonor. 21Therefore, if anyone cleanses himself from 6these things, he will be an implement for honor, sanctified, useful to the Master, 7prepared for every good work. 22Now 8flee from youthful lusts and pursue righteousness, 9faith, love, and peace with those who 10call on the Lord 11from a pure heart. 23But refuse foolish and ignorant 12speculations, knowing that they 13produce 14quarrels. 2415The Lord’s bond-servant must not be quarrelsome, but be kind to all, 16skillful in teaching, patient when wronged, 2517with gentleness correcting those who are in opposition, 18if perhaps God may grant them repentance leading to 19the knowledge of the truth, 26and they may come to their senses and escape from 20the snare of the devil, having been 21held captive 22by him to do his will.
