Corinthians 4:5-18

For we 1do not preach ourselves, but Christ Jesus as Lord, and ourselves as your bond-servants 2on account of Jesus. 6For God, who said, “3Light shall shine out of darkness,” is the One who has 4shone in our hearts to give the 5Light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ.

But we have this treasure in 67earthen containers, so that the extraordinary greatness of 8the power will be of God and not from ourselves; 8we are 9afflicted in every way, but not 10crushed; 11perplexed, but not despairing; 912persecuted, but not 13abandoned; 14struck down, but not destroyed; 1015always carrying around in the body the dying of Jesus, so that 16the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body. 11For we who live are constantly being handed over to death because of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our mortal flesh. 12So death works in us, but life in you.

But having the same 17spirit of faith, according to what is written: “18I believed, therefore I spoke,” we also believe, therefore we also speak, 14knowing that He who 19raised the Lord Jesus 20will also raise us with Jesus, and will 21present us with you. 15For all things are 22for your sakes, so that grace, having 2324spread to more and more people, will cause thanksgiving to overflow to the glory of God.

Therefore we 25do not lose heart, but though our outer person is decaying, yet our 26inner person is 27being renewed day by day. 17For our momentary, 28light affliction is producing for us an eternal weight of glory far beyond all comparison, 18while we 29look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen; for the things which are seen are temporal, but the things which are not seen are eternal.
