2 Corinthians 3
Ministers of a New Covenant
1Are we beginning to 1commend ourselves again? Or do we need, as some, 2letters of commendation to you or from you? 23You are our letter, written in our hearts, known and read by all people, 3revealing yourselves, that you are a letter of Christ, 45delivered by us, written not with ink but with the Spirit of 6the living God, not on 7tablets of stone but on 8tablets of 910human hearts.
4Such is the 11confidence we have toward God through Christ. 5Not that we are adequate in ourselves so as to consider anything as having come from ourselves, but 12our adequacy is from God, 6who also made us adequate as 13servants of a 14new covenant, not of 15the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but 16the Spirit gives life.
7But if the 17ministry of death, engraved 18in letters on stones, came 19with glory 20so that the sons of Israel could not look intently at the face of Moses because of the glory of his face, fading as it was, 8how will the ministry of the Spirit fail to be even more with glory? 9For if 21the ministry of condemnation has glory, much more does the 22ministry of righteousness excel in glory. 10For indeed what had glory in this case has no glory, because of the glory that surpasses it. 11For if that which fades away was 23with glory, much more that which remains is in glory.
1224Therefore, having such a hope, 25we use great boldness in our speech, 13and we are not like Moses, 26who used to put a veil over his face so that the sons of Israel would not stare at the end of what was fading away. 14But their minds were 27hardened; for until this very day at the 28reading of 29the old covenant the same veil 30remains unlifted, because it is removed in Christ. 15But to this day whenever Moses is read, a veil lies over their hearts; 1631but whenever someone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. 17Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where 32the Spirit of the Lord is, 33there is freedom. 18But we all, with unveiled faces, 34looking as in a mirror at the 35glory of the Lord, are being 36transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as from 37the Lord, the Spirit.
