2 Corinthians 6
Their Ministry Commended
1And 1working together with Him, 2we also urge you not to receive 3the grace of God in vain-- 2for He says, “4At a favorable time I listened to you, And on a day of salvation I helped you.” Behold, now is “a favorable time,” behold, now is “a day of salvation”-- 35giving no reason for taking offense in anything, so that the ministry will not be discredited, 4but in everything 6commending ourselves as 78servants of God, 9in much endurance, in afflictions, in hardships, in difficulties, 5in 10beatings, in imprisonments, in 1112mob attacks, in labors, in sleeplessness, in 13hunger, 6in purity, in 14knowledge, in 15patience, in kindness, in the 16Holy Spirit, in 17genuine love, 7in 18the word of truth, and in 19the power of God; by 20the weapons of righteousness for the right hand and the left, 8by glory and 21dishonor, by 22evil report and good report; regarded as 23deceivers and yet 24true; 9as unknown and yet well known, as 25dying and yet behold, 26we are alive; as 27punished and yet not put to death, 10as 28sorrowful yet always 29rejoicing, as 30poor yet making many rich, as 31having nothing and yet possessing 32all things.
1133Our mouth 34has spoken freely to you, you Corinthians, our 35heart is opened wide. 12You are not restrained 36by us, but 37you are restrained in your own 38affections. 13Now in the same way in 39exchange--I am speaking as to 40children--open wide your hearts to us, you as well.
1441Do not be 42mismatched with 43unbelievers; for what do righteousness and lawlessness 44share together, or what does light have in common with darkness? 15Or what 45harmony does Christ have with 46Belial, or 47what does a 48believer share with an 49unbeliever? 16Or 50what agreement does 51the temple of God have with idols? For we are 5253the temple of 54the living God; just as God said, “55I will 56dwell among them and 57walk among them; And I will be their God, and they shall be My people.1758Therefore, 59come out from their midst and be separate,” says the Lord. “And do not touch what is unclean; And I will welcome you.1860And I will be a father to you, And you shall be 61sons and daughters to Me,” Says the Lord Almighty.
