2 Corinthians 12:11-21
11I have become 1foolish; you yourselves compelled me. Actually I should have been commended by you, since I was 2in no respect inferior to the 3most eminent apostles, even though 4I am a nobody. 12The 5distinguishing marks 6of a true apostle were performed among you with all perseverance, by 7signs, wonders, and 8miracles. 13For in what respect were you treated as inferior to the rest of the churches, except that 9I myself did not become a burden to you? Forgive me 10this wrong!
14Here 11for this third time I am ready to come to you, and I 12will not be a burden to you; for I 13do not seek what is yours, but 14you; for 15children are not responsible to save up for their parents, but 16parents for their children. 15I will 17most gladly spend and be expended for your souls. If 18I love you more, am I to be loved less? 16But be that as it may, I 19did not burden you myself; nevertheless, devious person that I am, I 20took you in by deceit. 1721Certainly I have not taken advantage of you through any of those whom I have sent to you, have I? 18I 22urged 23Titus to go, and I sent 24the brother with him. Titus did not take any advantage of you, did he? Did we not 25conduct ourselves 26in the same 27spirit and walk 28in the same steps?
19All this time 29you have been thinking that we are defending ourselves to you. Actually, 30it is in the sight of God that we have been speaking in Christ; and 31all for building you up, 32beloved. 20For I am afraid that perhaps 33when I come I may find you to be not what I wish, and may be found by you to be not what you wish; that perhaps there will be 34strife, jealousy, 35angry tempers, 36selfishness, 37slanders, 38gossip, 39arrogance, 40disturbances; 21I am afraid that when I come again my God may humiliate me before you, and I may mourn over many of those who have 41sinned in the past and not repented of the 42impurity, sexual immorality, and indecent behavior which they have practiced.
