2 Corinthians 11:7-33

7Or 1did I commit a sin by humbling myself so that you might be exalted, because I preached the 2gospel of God to you 3without charge? 8I robbed other churches by 4taking wages from them to serve you; 9and when I was present with you and was in need, I was 5not a burden to anyone; for when 6the brothers came from 7Macedonia they fully supplied my need, and in everything I kept myself from 8being a burden to you, 9and will continue to do so. 1010As the truth of Christ is in me, 11this boasting of mine will not be stopped in the regions of 12Achaia. 11Why? 13Because I do not love you? 14God knows that I do!

12But what I am doing I will also continue to do, 15so that I may eliminate the opportunity from those who want an opportunity to be 16regarded just as we are in the matter about which they are boasting. 13For such men are 17false apostles, 18deceitful workers, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ. 14No wonder, for even 19Satan disguises himself as an 20angel of light. 15Therefore it is not surprising if his servants also disguise themselves as servants of righteousness, 21whose end will be according to their deeds.

1622Again I say, let no one think me foolish; but if you do, receive me even as foolish, so that I also may boast a little. 17What I am saying, I am not saying 2324as the Lord would, but as 25in foolishness, in this confidence of boasting. 18Since 26many boast 27according to the flesh, I will boast also. 19For you, 28being so wise, tolerate the foolish gladly. 20For you tolerate it if anyone 29enslaves you, if anyone 30devours you, if anyone 31takes advantage of you, if anyone 32exalts himself, if anyone 33hits you in the face. 21To my 34shame I must say that we have been 35weak by comparison.

But in whatever respect anyone else 36is bold--I am 37speaking in foolishness--I too am bold. 22Are they 38Hebrews? 39So am I. Are they 40Israelites? 41So am I. Are they 4243descendants of Abraham? 44So am I. 23Are they 45servants of Christ?--I am speaking as if insane--I more so; in 46far more labors, in 47far more imprisonments, 4849beaten times without number, often in danger of 50death. 24Five times I received from the Jews 51thirty-nine lashes. 25Three times I was 52beaten with rods, once I was 53stoned, three times I was shipwrecked, a night and a day I have spent adrift at sea. 26I have been on frequent journeys, in dangers from rivers, dangers from robbers, dangers from my 54countrymen, dangers from the 55Gentiles, dangers in the 56city, dangers in the wilderness, dangers at sea, dangers among 57false brothers; 27I have been in 58labor and hardship, through many sleepless nights, in 59hunger and thirst, often 60without food, in cold and 6162exposure. 28Apart from such 63external things, there is the daily pressure on me of concern for 64all the churches. 29Who is 65weak without my being weak? Who is 66led into sin 67without my intense concern?

30If I have to boast, I will boast of what pertains to my 68weakness. 31The God and Father of the Lord Jesus, 69He who is blessed forever, 70knows that I am not lying. 32In 71Damascus the ethnarch under Aretas the king was 72guarding the city of the Damascenes in order to seize me, 33and I was let down in a basket 73through a window 74in the wall, and so escaped his hands.
