2 Corinthians 11:21-33
21To my 1shame I must say that we have been 2weak by comparison.
But in whatever respect anyone else 3is bold--I am 4speaking in foolishness--I too am bold. 22Are they 5Hebrews? 6So am I. Are they 7Israelites? 8So am I. Are they 910descendants of Abraham? 11So am I. 23Are they 12servants of Christ?--I am speaking as if insane--I more so; in 13far more labors, in 14far more imprisonments, 1516beaten times without number, often in danger of 17death. 24Five times I received from the Jews 18thirty-nine lashes. 25Three times I was 19beaten with rods, once I was 20stoned, three times I was shipwrecked, a night and a day I have spent adrift at sea. 26I have been on frequent journeys, in dangers from rivers, dangers from robbers, dangers from my 21countrymen, dangers from the 22Gentiles, dangers in the 23city, dangers in the wilderness, dangers at sea, dangers among 24false brothers; 27I have been in 25labor and hardship, through many sleepless nights, in 26hunger and thirst, often 27without food, in cold and 2829exposure. 28Apart from such 30external things, there is the daily pressure on me of concern for 31all the churches. 29Who is 32weak without my being weak? Who is 33led into sin 34without my intense concern?
30If I have to boast, I will boast of what pertains to my 35weakness. 31The God and Father of the Lord Jesus, 36He who is blessed forever, 37knows that I am not lying. 32In 38Damascus the ethnarch under Aretas the king was 39guarding the city of the Damascenes in order to seize me, 33and I was let down in a basket 40through a window 41in the wall, and so escaped his hands.
