2 Corinthians 11:13-33

13For such men are 1false apostles, 2deceitful workers, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ. 14No wonder, for even 3Satan disguises himself as an 4angel of light. 15Therefore it is not surprising if his servants also disguise themselves as servants of righteousness, 5whose end will be according to their deeds.

166Again I say, let no one think me foolish; but if you do, receive me even as foolish, so that I also may boast a little. 17What I am saying, I am not saying 78as the Lord would, but as 9in foolishness, in this confidence of boasting. 18Since 10many boast 11according to the flesh, I will boast also. 19For you, 12being so wise, tolerate the foolish gladly. 20For you tolerate it if anyone 13enslaves you, if anyone 14devours you, if anyone 15takes advantage of you, if anyone 16exalts himself, if anyone 17hits you in the face. 21To my 18shame I must say that we have been 19weak by comparison.

But in whatever respect anyone else 20is bold--I am 21speaking in foolishness--I too am bold. 22Are they 22Hebrews? 23So am I. Are they 24Israelites? 25So am I. Are they 2627descendants of Abraham? 28So am I. 23Are they 29servants of Christ?--I am speaking as if insane--I more so; in 30far more labors, in 31far more imprisonments, 3233beaten times without number, often in danger of 34death. 24Five times I received from the Jews 35thirty-nine lashes. 25Three times I was 36beaten with rods, once I was 37stoned, three times I was shipwrecked, a night and a day I have spent adrift at sea. 26I have been on frequent journeys, in dangers from rivers, dangers from robbers, dangers from my 38countrymen, dangers from the 39Gentiles, dangers in the 40city, dangers in the wilderness, dangers at sea, dangers among 41false brothers; 27I have been in 42labor and hardship, through many sleepless nights, in 43hunger and thirst, often 44without food, in cold and 4546exposure. 28Apart from such 47external things, there is the daily pressure on me of concern for 48all the churches. 29Who is 49weak without my being weak? Who is 50led into sin 51without my intense concern?

30If I have to boast, I will boast of what pertains to my 52weakness. 31The God and Father of the Lord Jesus, 53He who is blessed forever, 54knows that I am not lying. 32In 55Damascus the ethnarch under Aretas the king was 56guarding the city of the Damascenes in order to seize me, 33and I was let down in a basket 57through a window 58in the wall, and so escaped his hands.
