2 Corinthians 11:13-33
13For such men are 1false apostles, 2deceitful workers, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ. 14No wonder, for even 3Satan disguises himself as an 4angel of light. 15Therefore it is not surprising if his servants also disguise themselves as servants of righteousness, 5whose end will be according to their deeds.
166Again I say, let no one think me foolish; but if you do, receive me even as foolish, so that I also may boast a little. 17What I am saying, I am not saying 78as the Lord would, but as 9in foolishness, in this confidence of boasting. 18Since 10many boast 11according to the flesh, I will boast also. 19For you, 12being so wise, tolerate the foolish gladly. 20For you tolerate it if anyone 13enslaves you, anyone 14devours you, anyone 15takes advantage of you, anyone 16exalts himself, anyone 17hits you in the face. 21To my 18shame I must say that we have been 19weak by comparison.
But in whatever respect anyone else 20is bold--I 21speak in foolishness--I am just as bold myself. 22Are they 22Hebrews? 23So am I. Are they 24Israelites? 25So am I. Are they 2627descendants of Abraham? 28So am I. 23Are they 29servants of Christ?--I speak as if insane--I more so; in 3031far more labors, in 3233far more imprisonments, 3435beaten times without number, often in 36danger of death. 24Five times I received from the Jews 37thirty-nine lashes. 25Three times I was 38beaten with rods, once I was 39stoned, three times I was shipwrecked, a night and a day I have spent in the deep. 26I have been on frequent journeys, in dangers from rivers, dangers from robbers, dangers from my 40countrymen, dangers from the 41Gentiles, dangers in the 42city, dangers in the wilderness, dangers on the sea, dangers among 43false brethren; 27I have been in 44labor and hardship, 45through many sleepless nights, in 46hunger and thirst, often 47without food, in cold and 4849exposure. 28Apart from such 50external things, there is the daily pressure on me of concern for 51all the churches. 29Who is 52weak without my being weak? Who is 53led into sin 54without my intense concern?
30If I have to boast, I will boast of what pertains to my 55weakness. 31The God and Father of the Lord Jesus, 56He who is blessed forever, 57knows that I am not lying. 32In 58Damascus the ethnarch under Aretas the king was 59guarding the city of the Damascenes in order to seize me, 33and I was let down in a basket 60through a window 61in the wall, and so escaped his hands.
