2 Corinthians 11:11-33
11Why? 1Because I do not love you? 2God knows that I do!
12But what I am doing I will also continue to do, 3so that I may eliminate the opportunity from those who want an opportunity to be 4regarded just as we are in the matter about which they are boasting. 13For such men are 5false apostles, 6deceitful workers, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ. 14No wonder, for even 7Satan disguises himself as an 8angel of light. 15Therefore it is not surprising if his servants also disguise themselves as servants of righteousness, 9whose end will be according to their deeds.
1610Again I say, let no one think me foolish; but if you do, receive me even as foolish, so that I also may boast a little. 17What I am saying, I am not saying 1112as the Lord would, but as 13in foolishness, in this confidence of boasting. 18Since 14many boast 15according to the flesh, I will boast also. 19For you, 16being so wise, tolerate the foolish gladly. 20For you tolerate it if anyone 17enslaves you, if anyone 18devours you, if anyone 19takes advantage of you, if anyone 20exalts himself, if anyone 21hits you in the face. 21To my 22shame I must say that we have been 23weak by comparison.
But in whatever respect anyone else 24is bold--I am 25speaking in foolishness--I too am bold. 22Are they 26Hebrews? 27So am I. Are they 28Israelites? 29So am I. Are they 3031descendants of Abraham? 32So am I. 23Are they 33servants of Christ?--I am speaking as if insane--I more so; in 34far more labors, in 35far more imprisonments, 3637beaten times without number, often in danger of 38death. 24Five times I received from the Jews 39thirty-nine lashes. 25Three times I was 40beaten with rods, once I was 41stoned, three times I was shipwrecked, a night and a day I have spent adrift at sea. 26I have been on frequent journeys, in dangers from rivers, dangers from robbers, dangers from my 42countrymen, dangers from the 43Gentiles, dangers in the 44city, dangers in the wilderness, dangers at sea, dangers among 45false brothers; 27I have been in 46labor and hardship, through many sleepless nights, in 47hunger and thirst, often 48without food, in cold and 4950exposure. 28Apart from such 51external things, there is the daily pressure on me of concern for 52all the churches. 29Who is 53weak without my being weak? Who is 54led into sin 55without my intense concern?
30If I have to boast, I will boast of what pertains to my 56weakness. 31The God and Father of the Lord Jesus, 57He who is blessed forever, 58knows that I am not lying. 32In 59Damascus the ethnarch under Aretas the king was 60guarding the city of the Damascenes in order to seize me, 33and I was let down in a basket 61through a window 62in the wall, and so escaped his hands.
