2 Corinthians 11:11-33

11Why? 1Because I do not love you? 2God knows I do!

12But what I am doing I will continue to do, 3so that I may cut off opportunity from those who desire an opportunity to be 4regarded just as we are in the matter about which they are boasting. 13For such men are 5false apostles, 6deceitful workers, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ. 14No wonder, for even 7Satan disguises himself as an 8angel of light. 15Therefore it is not surprising if his servants also disguise themselves as servants of righteousness, 9whose end will be according to their deeds.

1610Again I say, let no one think me foolish; but if you do, receive me even as foolish, so that I also may boast a little. 17What I am saying, I am not saying 1112as the Lord would, but as 13in foolishness, in this confidence of boasting. 18Since 14many boast 15according to the flesh, I will boast also. 19For you, 16being so wise, tolerate the foolish gladly. 20For you tolerate it if anyone 17enslaves you, anyone 18devours you, anyone 19takes advantage of you, anyone 20exalts himself, anyone 21hits you in the face. 21To my 22shame I must say that we have been 23weak by comparison.

But in whatever respect anyone else 24is bold--I 25speak in foolishness--I am just as bold myself. 22Are they 26Hebrews? 27So am I. Are they 28Israelites? 29So am I. Are they 3031descendants of Abraham? 32So am I. 23Are they 33servants of Christ?--I speak as if insane--I more so; in 3435far more labors, in 3637far more imprisonments, 3839beaten times without number, often in 40danger of death. 24Five times I received from the Jews 41thirty-nine lashes. 25Three times I was 42beaten with rods, once I was 43stoned, three times I was shipwrecked, a night and a day I have spent in the deep. 26I have been on frequent journeys, in dangers from rivers, dangers from robbers, dangers from my 44countrymen, dangers from the 45Gentiles, dangers in the 46city, dangers in the wilderness, dangers on the sea, dangers among 47false brethren; 27I have been in 48labor and hardship, 49through many sleepless nights, in 50hunger and thirst, often 51without food, in cold and 5253exposure. 28Apart from such 54external things, there is the daily pressure on me of concern for 55all the churches. 29Who is 56weak without my being weak? Who is 57led into sin 58without my intense concern?

30If I have to boast, I will boast of what pertains to my 59weakness. 31The God and Father of the Lord Jesus, 60He who is blessed forever, 61knows that I am not lying. 32In 62Damascus the ethnarch under Aretas the king was 63guarding the city of the Damascenes in order to seize me, 33and I was let down in a basket 64through a window 65in the wall, and so escaped his hands.
