1 Timothy 3:6-11

6and not a new convert, so that he will not become 1conceited and fall into 2condemnation 3incurred by the devil. 7And he must 4have a good reputation with 5those outside the church, so that he will not fall into 6disgrace and 7the snare of the devil.

88Deacons likewise must be men of dignity, not 9insincere, 10not prone to drink much wine, 11not greedy for money, 912but holding to the mystery of the faith with a clear conscience. 1013These men must also first be tested; then have them serve as deacons if they are beyond reproach. 1114Women must likewise be dignified, 15not malicious gossips, but 1617temperate, faithful in all things.
