1 Timothy 1:6-17

6Some people have strayed from these things and have turned aside to 1fruitless discussion, 72wanting to be 3teachers of the Law, even though they do not understand either what they are saying or the matters about which they make confident assertions.

8But we know that 4the Law is good, if one uses it lawfully, 9realizing the fact that 5law is not made for a righteous person but for those who are lawless and 6rebellious, for the 7ungodly and sinners, for the unholy and 8worldly, for those who kill their fathers or mothers, for murderers, 10for the 910sexually immoral, 11homosexuals, 1213slave traders, 14liars, 15perjurers, and whatever else is contrary to 16sound teaching, 11according to 17the glorious gospel of 18the blessed God, with which I have been 19entrusted.

12I thank 20Christ Jesus our Lord, who has 21strengthened me, because He considered me faithful, 22putting me into service, 13even though I was previously a blasphemer and a 23persecutor and a violent aggressor. Yet I was 24shown mercy because 25I acted ignorantly in unbelief; 14and the 26grace of our Lord was more than abundant, with the 27faith and love which are found in Christ Jesus. 1528It is a trustworthy statement, deserving full acceptance, that 29Christ Jesus came into the world to 30save sinners, among whom 31I am foremost. 16Yet for this reason I 32found mercy, so that in me as the foremost sinner Jesus Christ might 33demonstrate His perfect patience as an example for those 34who would believe in Him for eternal life. 17Now to the 35King 36eternal, 37immortal, 38invisible, the 39only God, 40be honor and glory 41forever and ever. Amen.
