7EachH376 manH376 saidH559 to his mateH7453, “ComeH1980, let us 9castH5307 lotsH1486 so we may 10learnH3045 on whoseH4310 accountH7945 thisH2088 calamityH7463 has struck us.” So they castH5307 lotsH1486 and the 11lotH1486 fellH5307 on JonahH3124. 8Then they saidH559 to him, “12TellH5046 us, nowH4994! On whoseH4310 account has thisH2088 calamityH7463 struck us? WhatH4100 is your 13occupationH4399? And whereH370 do you comeH935 from? WhatH4100 is your countryH776? From whatH335H2088 peopleH5971 are you?” 9He saidH559 to them, “I am a 14HebrewH5680, and I 15fearH3372 the LordH3068 16GodH430 of heavenH8064 whoH834 17madeH6213 the seaH3220 and the dryH3004 landH3004.”

10Then the menH376 becameH3372 extremelyH3374H1419 frightenedH3372 and they saidH559 to him, “18HowH4100 could you doH6213 thisH2088?” For the menH376 knewH3045 that he was 19fleeingH1272 from the presenceH6440 of the LordH3068, becauseH3588 he had toldH5046 them.
