35‘Now in caseוְכִֽי־ve.khi-H3588acountrymanאָחִ֔יךָ'a.Chi.khaH251of yours becomesיָמ֣וּךְya.MukhH4134poorH4134and hismeansיָד֖וֹya.DoH3027with regardH5973to you falterוּמָ֥טָהu.Ma.tahH4131,then you are to sustainוְהֶֽחֱזַ֣קְתָּve.he.che.Zak.taH2388him, like a strangerגֵּ֧רgerH1616or a sojournerוְתוֹשָׁ֛בve.to.ShavH8453,that he may liveוָחַ֖יva.ChaiH2421with you.

36Do not takeתִּקַּ֤חti.KachH3947usuriousוְתַרְבִּ֔יתve.tar.BitH8636interestנֶ֣שֶׁךְNe.shekhH5392from him, but revereוְיָרֵ֖אתָve.ya.Re.taH3372your Godמֵֽאֱלֹהֶ֑יךָme.'e.lo.Hei.khaH430, that yourcountrymanאָחִ֖יךָ'a.Chi.khaH251may liveוְחֵ֥יve.CheiH2421with you.

37You shall not giveH5414him your silverכַּסְפְּךָ֔kas.pe.KhaH3701at interestבְּנֶ֑שֶׁךְbe.Ne.shekhH5392,norH3808your foodאָכְלֶֽךָ׃'a.khe.Le.khaH400for gainוּבְמַרְבִּ֖יתu.ve.mar.BitH4768.

38I am the Lordיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068your Godאֱלֹ֣הֵיכֶ֔ם'e.Lo.hei.KhemH430,whoאֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834broughtהוֹצֵ֥אתִיho.Tze.tiH3318you out of the landמֵאֶ֣רֶץme.'E.retzH776of Egyptמִצְרָ֑יִםmitz.Ra.yimH4714to giveלָתֵ֤תla.TetH5414you the landאֶ֣רֶץ'E.retzH776of Canaanכְּנַ֔עַןke.Na.'anH3667andto be your Godלֵאלֹהִֽים׃ סle.lo.HimH430.

39‘Ifוְכִֽי־ve.khi-H3588acountrymanאָחִ֛יךָ'a.Chi.khaH251of yours becomesיָמ֥וּךְya.MukhH4134so poorH4134with regardעִמָּ֖ךְ'i.MakhH5973to you that he sellsוְנִמְכַּר־ve.nim.kar-H4376himself to you, you shall not subjectתַעֲבֹ֥דta.'a.VodH5647him to a slave’sעָֽבֶד׃'A.vedH5650serviceעֲבֹ֥דַת'a.Vo.datH5656.

40He shall be with you as a hiredכְּשָׂכִ֥ירke.sa.KhirH7916manH7916, asif he were a sojournerכְּתוֹשָׁ֖בke.to.ShavH8453;he shall serveיַעֲבֹ֥דya.'a.VodH5647with you untilעַד־'ad-H5704the yearשְׁנַ֥תshe.NatH8141of jubileeהַיֹּבֵ֖לhai.yo.VelH3104.

41He shall then goוְיָצָא֙ve.ya.Tza'H3318out from you, he and his sonsוּבָנָ֣יוu.va.NavH1121with him, and shall goH7725backH7725to his familyמִשְׁפַּחְתּ֔וֹmish.pach.ToH4940,that he may returnH7725to the propertyאֲחֻזַּ֥ת'a.chu.ZatH272of his forefathersאֲבֹתָ֖יו'a.vo.TavH1.

42For they are My servantsעֲבָדַ֣י'a.va.DaiH5650whomאֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834I broughtהוֹצֵ֥אתִיho.Tze.tiH3318out from the landמֵאֶ֣רֶץme.'E.retzH776of Egyptמִצְרָ֑יִםmitz.Ra.yimH4714;they are not to be soldיִמָּכְר֖וּyi.ma.khe.RuH4376ina slaveעָֽבֶד׃'A.vedH5650saleמִמְכֶּ֥רֶתmi.Ke.retH4466.

43You shall not ruleתִרְדֶּ֥הtir.DehH7287over him with severityבְּפָ֑רֶךְbe.Fa.rekhH6531,but are to revereוְיָרֵ֖אתָve.ya.Re.taH3372your Godמֵאֱלֹהֶֽיךָ׃me.'e.lo.Hei.khaH430.

44As for your maleוְעַבְדְּךָ֥ve.'av.de.KhaH5650and femaleוַאֲמָתְךָ֖va.'a.ma.te.KhaH519slavesעֶ֥בֶד וְאָמָֽה׃'E.ved ve.'a.MahH519 H5650whomH834you may haveיִהְיוּ־yih.yu-H1961--you may acquireתִּקְנ֖וּtik.NuH7069maleH5650and femaleH519slavesH519 H5650from the pagan nationsהַגּוֹיִ֗םha.go.YimH1471that are aroundסְבִיבֹ֣תֵיכֶ֔םse.vi.Vo.tei.KhemH5439you.

45Then, tooוְ֠גַםVe.gamH1571, it isout of the sonsמִבְּנֵ֨יmi.be.NeiH1121of the sojournersהַתּוֹשָׁבִ֜יםha.to.sha.VimH8453who liveH1481as aliensH1481amongH5973you that you may gainH7069acquisitionH7069,and out of their familiesוּמִמִּשְׁפַּחְתָּם֙u.mi.mish.pach.TamH4940whoאֲשֶׁ֣ר'a.SherH834are with you, whomאֲשֶׁ֥ר'a.SherH834they will haveproducedהוֹלִ֖ידוּho.Li.duH3205in your landבְּאַרְצְכֶ֑םbe.'ar.tze.KhemH776;they also may becomeוְהָי֥וּve.ha.YuH1961your possessionלַֽאֲחֻזָּֽה׃La.'a.chu.ZahH272.

46You may even bequeathוְהִתְנַחֲלְתֶּ֨םve.hit.na.chal.TemH5157them to your sonsלִבְנֵיכֶ֤םliv.nei.KhemH1121afterאַחֲרֵיכֶם֙'a.cha.rei.KhemH310you, to receiveלָרֶ֣שֶׁתla.Re.shetH3423as a possessionאֲחֻזָּ֔ה'a.chu.ZahH272;you can useH5647them as permanentלְעֹלָ֖םle.'o.LamH5769slavesH5647. But in respect to yourcountrymenוּבְאַ֨חֵיכֶ֤םu.ve.'A.chei.KhemH251,the sonsבְּנֵֽי־be.nei-H1121of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵל֙Yis.ra.'ElH3478,you shall not ruleתִרְדֶּ֥הtir.DehH7287with severityבְּפָֽרֶךְ׃ סbe.Fa.rekhH6531over oneאִ֣ישׁ'ishH376anotherבְּאָחִ֔יוbe.'a.ChivH251.

47‘Now ifוְכִ֣יve.KhiH3588themeansיַ֣דyadH3027of a strangerגֵּ֤רgerH1616or of a sojournerוְתוֹשָׁב֙ve.to.ShavH8453with you becomesH5381sufficientH5381, and acountrymanאָחִ֖יךָ'a.Chi.khaH251of yours becomesוּמָ֥ךְu.MakhH4134so poorH4134with regardH5973to him as to sellוְנִמְכַּ֗רve.nim.KarH4376himself to a strangerלְגֵ֤רle.GerH1616who is sojourningתּוֹשָׁב֙to.ShavH8453with you, orא֥וֹ'oH176to the descendantsלְעֵ֖קֶרle.'E.kerH6133of a stranger’sגֵּֽר׃GerH1616familyמִשְׁפַּ֥חַתmish.Pa.chatH4940,

48then he shall haveתִּהְיֶה־tih.yeh-H1961redemptionגְּאֻלָּ֖הge.'u.LahH1353rightH1353afterאַחֲרֵ֣י'a.cha.ReiH310he has been soldנִמְכַּ֔רnim.KarH4376.Oneאֶחָ֥ד'e.ChadH259of his brothersמֵאֶחָ֖יוme.'e.ChavH251may redeemיִגְאָלֶֽנּוּ׃yig.'a.Le.nuH1350him,

49orאוֹ־'ov-H176his uncleדֹד֞וֹdo.DoH1730,orא֤וֹ'oH176his uncle’sדֹּדוֹ֙do.DoH1730sonבֶן־ven-H1121,may redeemיִגְאָלֶ֔נּוּyig.'a.Le.nuH1350him, orאֽוֹ־'ov-H176one of his bloodH7607relativesמִשְּׁאֵ֧רmi.she.'ErH7607from his familyמִמִּשְׁפַּחְתּ֖וֹmi.mish.pach.ToH4940may redeemיִגְאָלֶ֑נּוּyig.'a.Le.nuH1350him; orאֽוֹ־'ov-H176if he prospersהִשִּׂ֥יגָהhi.Si.gahH5381,he may redeemוְנִגְאָֽל׃ve.nig.'AlH1350himself.

50He then with his purchaserקֹנֵ֔הוּko.Ne.huH7069shall calculateוְחִשַּׁב֙ve.chi.ShavH2803from the yearמִשְּׁנַת֙mi.she.NatH8141when he soldהִמָּ֣כְרוֹhi.Ma.khe.rovH4376himself to him up to the yearשְׁנַ֣תshe.NatH8141of jubileeהַיֹּבֵ֑לhai.yo.VelH3104;and the priceכֶּ֤סֶףKe.sefH3701of his saleמִמְכָּרוֹ֙mi.ka.RoH4465shall correspondH1961to the numberבְּמִסְפַּ֣רbe.mis.ParH4557of yearsשָׁנִ֔יםsha.NimH8141. It islike the daysכִּימֵ֥יki.MeiH3117of a hiredשָׂכִ֖ירsa.KhirH7916manH7916that he shall be with him.

51Ifאִם־'im-H518there are stillע֥וֹדodH5750manyרַבּ֖וֹתra.BotH7227yearsבַּשָּׁנִ֑יםba.sha.NimH8141,he shall refundיָשִׁ֣יבya.ShivH7725part of his purchaseמִקְנָתֽוֹ׃mik.na.ToH4736priceמִכֶּ֖סֶףmi.Ke.sefH3701in proportionלְפִיהֶן֙le.fi.HenH6310to them for his own redemptionגְּאֻלָּת֔וֹge.'u.la.ToH1353;

52and ifוְאִם־ve.'im-H518fewמְעַ֞טme.'AtH4592yearsבַּשָּׁנִ֛יםba.sha.NimH8141remainנִשְׁאַ֧רnish.'ArH7604untilעַד־'ad-H5704the yearשְׁנַ֥תshe.NatH8141of jubileeהַיֹּבֵ֖לhai.yo.VelH3104,he shall so calculateוְחִשַּׁב־ve.chi.shav-H2803with him. In proportionכְּפִ֣יke.FiH6310to his yearsשָׁנָ֔יוsha.NavH8141he is to refundיָשִׁ֖יבya.ShivH7725the amount forhis redemptionגְּאֻלָּתֽוֹ׃ge.'u.la.ToH1353.

53Like a manH7916hiredH7916yearשָׁנָ֛הsha.NahH8141by yearבְּשָׁנָ֖הbe.sha.NahH8141he shall be with him;he shall not ruleיִרְדֶּ֥נּֽוּyir.De.nuH7287over him with severityבְּפֶ֖רֶךְbe.Fe.rekhH6531in your sightלְעֵינֶֽיךָ׃le.'ei.Nei.khaH5869.

54Even ifוְאִם־ve.'im-H518he is not redeemedיִגָּאֵ֖לyi.ga.'ElH1350bytheseבְּאֵ֑לֶּהbe.'E.lehH428means,he shall still goוְיָצָא֙ve.ya.Tza'H3318out in the yearבִּשְׁנַ֣תbish.NatH8141of jubileeהַיֹּבֵ֔לhai.yo.VelH3104,he and his sonsוּבָנָ֥יוu.va.NavH1121with him.

55For the sonsבְנֵֽי־ve.nei-H1121of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵל֙Yis.ra.'ElH3478are My servantsעֲבָדִ֔ים'a.va.DimH5650;they are My servantsעֲבָדַ֣י'a.va.DaiH5650whomאֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834I broughtהוֹצֵ֥אתִיho.Tze.tiH3318out from the landמֵאֶ֣רֶץme.'E.retzH776of Egyptמִצְרָ֑יִםmitz.Ra.yimH4714.I am the Lordיְהוָ֥הYah.wehH3068your Godאֱלֹהֵיכֶֽם׃'e.lo.hei.KhemH430.
