4They cameוַיֵּצְא֣וּvai.ye.tze.'UH3318out, they and allוְכָל־ve.kholH3605their armiesמַֽחֲנֵיהֶם֙ma.cha.nei.HemH4264with them, asmanyרָ֕בravH7227peopleעַם־'am-H5971as the sandכַּח֛וֹלka.CholH2344that is on the seashoreשְׂפַת־ הַיָּ֖םse.fat- hai.YamH3220 H8193,with veryמְאֹֽד׃me.'OdH3966manyרַב־rav-H7227horsesוְס֥וּסve.SusH5483and chariotsוָרֶ֖כֶבva.Re.khevH7393.

5So allכֹּ֖לkolH3605of theseהָאֵ֑לֶּהha.'E.lehH428kingsהַמְּלָכִ֣יםha.me.la.KhimH4428having agreedH3259to meetH3259,cameוַיָּבֹ֜אוּvai.ya.Vo.'uH935and encampedוַיַּחֲנ֤וּvai.ya.cha.NuH2583togetherH3164at the watersמֵ֣יmeiH4325of Meromמֵר֔וֹםme.RomH4792,to fightלְהִלָּחֵ֖םle.hi.la.ChemH3898againstעִם־'im-H5973Israelיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ פYis.ra.'ElH3478.

6Then the Lordיְהוָ֣הYah.wehH3068saidוַיֹּ֨אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to Joshuaיְהוֹשֻׁעַ֮ye.ho.shu.a'H3091, “Do not be afraidתִּירָ֣אti.Ra'H3372becauseמִפְּנֵיהֶם֒mi.pe.nei.HemH4480 H6440of them, for tomorrowמָחָ֞רma.CharH4279at thisH2088timeכָּעֵ֣תka.'EtH6256I will deliverנֹתֵ֧ןno.TenH5414allכֻּלָּ֛םku.LamH3605of them slainחֲלָלִ֖יםcha.la.LimH2491beforeלִפְנֵ֣יlif.NeiH6440Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֑לYis.ra.'ElH3478; you shallhamstringH6136their horsesסוּסֵיהֶ֣םsu.sei.HemH5483and burnתִּשְׂרֹ֥ףtis.RofH8313their chariotsמַרְכְּבֹתֵיהֶ֖םmar.ke.vo.tei.HemH4818with fireבָּאֵֽשׁ׃ba.'EshH784.”

7So Joshuaיְהוֹשֻׁ֡עַye.ho.Shu.a'H3091and allוְכָל־ve.kholH3605the peopleעַם֩'amH5971of warהַמִּלְחָמָ֨הha.mil.cha.MahH4421with him cameוַיָּבֹ֣אvai.ya.Vo'H935upon them suddenlyפִּתְאֹ֑םpit.'OmH6597by the watersמֵ֥יmeiH4325of Meromמֵר֖וֹםme.RomH4792,and attackedוַֽיִּפְּל֖וּvai.yi.pe.LuH5307them.

8The Lordיְהוָ֥הYah.wehH3068deliveredוַיִּתְּנֵ֨םvai.yi.te.NemH5414them into the handבְּיַֽד־be.yad-H3027of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵל֮Yis.ra.'ElH3478, so that theydefeatedוַיַּכּוּם֒vai.ya.KumH5221them, and pursuedוַֽיִּרְדְּפ֞וּםvai.yir.de.FumH7291them as farH5704as Greatרַבָּ֗הra.BahH7227Sidonצִיד֣וֹןtzi.DonH6721andMisrephoth-maimH4956and the valleyבִּקְעַ֥תbik.'AtH1237ofMizpehמִצְפֶּ֖הmitz.PehH4708to the eastמִזְרָ֑חָהmiz.Ra.chahH4217;and they struckוַיַּכֻּ֕םvai.ya.KumH5221them untilH5704noבִּלְתִּ֥יbil.TiH1115survivorשָׂרִֽיד׃sa.RidH8300was leftהִשְׁאִֽיר־hish.'ir-H7604to them.

9Joshuaיְהוֹשֻׁ֔עַye.ho.Shu.a'H3091didוַיַּ֤עַשׂvai.Ya.'asH6213to them as the Lordיְהוָ֑הYah.wehH3068had toldאָֽמַר־'a.mar-H559him; hehamstrungH6136their horsesסוּסֵיהֶ֣םsu.sei.HemH5483and burnedשָׂרַ֥ףsa.RafH8313their chariotsמַרְכְּבֹתֵיהֶ֖םmar.ke.vo.tei.HemH4818with fireבָּאֵֽשׁ׃ סba.'EshH784.
