A Psalm of David.

1The Lordיְהוָ֤ה׀Yah.wehH3068ismy lightאוֹרִ֣י'o.RiH216and my salvationוְ֭יִשְׁעִיVe.yish.'iH3468;whom shall I fearאִירָ֑א'i.Ra'H3372?the Lordיְהוָ֥הYah.wehH3068isthe strengthמָֽעוֹז־ma.'oz-H4581of my lifeחַ֝יַּ֗יchai.YaiH2416;of whom shall I be afraidאֶפְחָֽד׃'ef.ChadH6342?

2When the wickedמְרֵעִים֮me.re.'ImH7489, evenmine enemiesצָרַ֣יtza.RaiH6862and my foesוְאֹיְבַ֣יve.'o.ye.VaiH341,cameבִּקְרֹ֤בbik.RoH7126upon me to eat upלֶאֱכֹ֪לle.'e.KholH398my fleshבְּשָׂ֫רִ֥יbe.Sa.RiH1320,they stumbledכָשְׁל֣וּkha.she.LuH3782and fellוְנָפָֽלוּ׃ve.na.Fa.luH5307.

3Though an hostמַחֲנֶה֮ma.cha.NehH4264should encampתַּחֲנֶ֬הta.cha.NehH2583against me, my heartלִ֫בִּ֥יli.BiH3820shall not fearיִירָ֪אyi.Ra'H3372:though warמִלְחָמָ֑הmil.cha.MahH4421should riseתָּק֣וּםta.KumH6965against me, in this will I beconfidentבוֹטֵֽחַ׃vo.Te.achH982.

4Oneאַחַ֤ת׀'a.ChatH259thinghave I desiredשָׁאַ֣לְתִּיsha.'Al.tiH7592of the Lordיְהוָה֮Yah.wehH3068,that will I seekאֲבַ֫קֵּ֥שׁ'a.Va.KeshH1245after; that I may dwellשִׁבְתִּ֣יshiv.TiH3427in the houseבְּבֵית־be.veit-H1004of the Lordיְ֭הוָהYah.wehH3068all the daysיְמֵ֣יye.MeiH3117of my lifeחַיַּ֑יchai.YaiH2416,to beholdלַחֲז֥וֹתla.cha.ZotH2372the beautyבְּנֹֽעַם־be.no.'am-H5278of the Lordיְ֝הוָ֗הYah.wehH3068,and to enquireוּלְבַקֵּ֥רu.le.va.KerH1239in his templeבְּהֵיכָלֽוֹ׃be.hei.kha.LoH1964.

5For in the timeבְּי֪וֹםbe.YomH3117of troubleרָ֫עָ֥הra.'AhH7451he shall hideיִצְפְּנֵ֨נִי׀yitz.pe.Ne.niH6845me in his pavilionבְּסֻכֹּה֮be.su.KohH5520:in the secretבְּסֵ֣תֶרbe.Se.terH5643of his tabernacleאָהֳל֑וֹ'o.ho.LoH168shall he hideיַ֭סְתִּרֵנִיYas.ti.re.niH5641me; he shall set me upיְרוֹמְמֵֽנִי׃ye.ro.Me.niH7311upon a rockבְּ֝צ֗וּרbe.TzurH6697.

6And now shall mine headרֹאשִׁ֡יro.ShiH7218be lifted upיָר֪וּםya.RumH7311above mine enemiesאֹֽיְבַ֬י'o.ye.VaiH341round aboutסְֽבִיבוֹתַ֗יse.vi.vo.TaiH5439me: therefore will I offerוְאֶזְבְּחָ֣הve.'ez.be.ChahH2076in his tabernacleבְ֭אָהֳלוֹve.'o.ho.loH168sacrificesזִבְחֵ֣יziv.CheiH2077of joyתְרוּעָ֑הte.ru.'AhH8643;I will singאָשִׁ֥ירָה'a.Shi.rahH7891,yea, I will sing praisesוַ֝אֲזַמְּרָ֗הva.'a.za.me.RahH2167unto the Lordלַיהוָֽה׃la.Yah.wehH3068.

7Hearשְׁמַע־she.ma'-H8085,O Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068, whenI cryאֶקְרָ֗א'ek.Ra'H7121with my voiceקוֹלִ֥יko.LiH6963:have mercyוְחָנֵּ֥נִיve.cho.Ne.niH2603also upon me, and answerוַעֲנֵֽנִי׃va.'a.Ne.niH6030me.

8When thou saidst,Seekבַּקְּשׁ֣וּba.ke.ShuH1245ye my faceפָנָ֑יfa.NaiH6440;my heartלִ֭בִּיLi.biH3820saidאָמַ֣ר'a.MarH559unto thee, Thy faceפָּנֶ֖יךָpa.Nei.khaH6440,Lordיְהוָ֣הYah.wehH3068,will I seekאֲבַקֵּֽשׁ׃'a.va.KeshH1245.

9Hideתַּסְתֵּ֬רtas.TerH5641not thy faceפָּנֶ֨יךָ׀pa.Nei.khaH6440farfrom me; putH5186not thy servantעַ֫בְדֶּ֥ךָ'av.De.khaH5650awayH5186in angerבְּאַ֗ףbe.'AfH639:thou hast been my helpעֶזְרָתִ֥י'ez.ra.TiH5833;leaveתִּטְּשֵׁ֥נִיti.te.She.niH5203me not, neither forsakeתַּֽ֝עַזְבֵ֗נִיta.'az.Ve.niH5800me, O Godאֱלֹהֵ֥י'e.lo.HeiH430of my salvationיִשְׁעִֽי׃yish.'IH3468.

10When my fatherאָבִ֣י'a.ViH1and my motherוְאִמִּ֣יve.'i.MiH517forsakeעֲזָב֑וּנִי'a.za.Vu.niH5800me, then the Lordוַֽיהוָ֣הva.Yah.wehH3068will take me upיַֽאַסְפֵֽנִי׃Ya.'as.Fe.niH622.

11Teachה֤וֹרֵ֥נִיho.Re.niH3384me thy wayדַּ֫רְכֶּ֥ךָdar.Ke.khaH1870,O Lordיְהוָ֗הYah.wehH3068,and leadוּ֭נְחֵנִיU.ne.che.niH5148me in a plainמִישׁ֑וֹרmi.ShorH4334pathבְּאֹ֣רַחbe.'O.rachH734,because of mine enemiesשׁוֹרְרָֽי׃sho.RaiH8324.

12Deliverתִּ֭תְּנֵנִיTi.te.ne.niH5414me not over unto the willבְּנֶ֣פֶשׁbe.Ne.feshH5315of mine enemiesצָרָ֑יtza.RaiH6862:for falseשֶׁ֝֗קֶרShe.kerH8267witnessesעֵֽדֵי־'e.dei-H5707are risen upקָֽמוּ־ka.mu-H6965against me, and such as breathe outוִיפֵ֥חַvi.Fe.achH3307crueltyחָמָֽס׃cha.MasH2555.

13I had fainted,unlessלׅׄוּלֵׅׄ֗אׅׄlu.Le'H3884I had believedהֶ֭אֱמַנְתִּיHe.'e.man.tiH539to seeלִרְא֥וֹתlir.'otH7200the goodnessבְּֽטוּב־be.tuv-H2898of the Lordיְהוָ֗הYah.wehH3068in the landבְּאֶ֣רֶץbe.'E.retzH776of the livingחַיִּֽים׃chai.YimH2416.

14Waitקַוֵּ֗הka.VehH6960on the Lordיְה֫וָ֥הYah.wehH3068:be of good courageחֲ֭זַקCha.zakH2388,and he shall strengthenוְיַאֲמֵ֣ץve.ya.'a.MetzH553thine heartלִבֶּ֑ךָli.Be.khaH3820:waitוְ֝קַוֵּ֗הve.ka.VehH6960,I say, on the Lordיְהוָֽה׃Yah.wehH3068.
