A Psalm of David.

1Hearשְׁמַ֬עshe.Ma'H8085my prayerתְּפִלָּתִ֗יte.fi.la.TiH8605,O Lordיְהוָ֤ה׀Yah.wehH3068,give earהַאֲזִ֥ינָהha.'a.Zi.nahH238to my supplicationsתַּחֲנוּנַ֑יta.cha.nu.NaiH8469:in thy faithfulnessבֶּאֱמֻנָתְךָ֥be.'e.mu.na.te.KhaH530answerעֲ֝נֵ֗נִי'a.Ne.niH6030me, andin thy righteousnessבְּצִדְקָתֶֽךָ׃be.tzid.ka.Te.chaH6666.

2And enterתָּב֣וֹאta.Vo'H935not into judgmentבְ֭מִשְׁפָּטVe.mish.potH4941with thy servantעַבְדֶּ֑ךָ'av.De.khaH5650:for in thy sightלְפָנֶ֣יךָle.fa.Nei.khaH6440shall no man livingחָֽי׃ChaiH2416be justifiedיִצְדַּ֖קyitz.DakH6663.

3For the enemyאוֹיֵ֨ב׀'o.YevH341hath persecutedרָ֘דַ֤ףra.DafH7291my soulנַפְשִׁ֗יnaf.ShiH5315;he hath smittenH1792my lifeחַיָּתִ֑יchai.ya.TiH2416downH1792to the groundלָ֭אָרֶץLa.'a.retzH776;he hath made me to dwellהוֹשִׁיבַ֥נִיho.shi.Va.niH3427in darknessבְ֝מַחֲשַׁכִּ֗יםve.ma.cha.sha.KimH4285,as those that have been longעוֹלָֽם׃o.LamH5769deadכְּמֵתֵ֥יke.me.TeiH4191.

4Therefore is my spiritרוּחִ֑יru.ChiH7307overwhelmedוַתִּתְעַטֵּ֣ףva.tit.'a.TefH5848within me; my heartלִבִּֽי׃li.BiH3820withinבְּ֝תוֹכִ֗יbe.to.KhiH8432me is desolateיִשְׁתּוֹמֵ֥םyish.to.MemH8074.

5I rememberזָ֘כַ֤רְתִּיza.Khar.tiH2142the daysיָמִ֨ים׀ya.MimH3117of oldמִקֶּ֗דֶםmi.Ke.demH6924;I meditateהָגִ֥יתִיha.Gi.tiH1897on all thy worksפָּעֳלֶ֑ךָpo.'o.Le.khaH6467;I museאֲשׂוֹחֵֽחַ׃'a.so.Che.achH7878on the workבְּֽמַעֲשֵׂ֖הbe.ma.'a.SehH4639of thy handsיָדֶ֣יךָya.Dei.khaH3027.

6I stretch forthפֵּרַ֣שְׂתִּיpe.Ras.tiH6566my handsיָדַ֣יya.DaiH3027unto thee: my soulנַפְשִׁ֓י׀naf.ShiH5315thirstethafter thee, as a thirstyעֲיֵפָ֖ה'a.ye.FahH5889landכְּאֶֽרֶץ־ke.'e.retz-H776.Selahסֶֽלָה׃Se.lahH5542.

7Hearעֲנֵ֨נִי׀'a.Ne.niH6030me speedilyH4118,O Lordיְהוָה֮Yah.wehH3068:my spiritר֫וּחִ֥יru.ChiH7307failethכָּלְתָ֪הkal.TahH3615:hideתַּסְתֵּ֣רtas.TerH5641not thy faceפָּנֶ֣יךָpa.Nei.khaH6440from me, lest I be likeוְ֝נִמְשַׁ֗לְתִּיve.nim.Shal.tiH4911unto them that go downיֹ֥רְדֵיYo.re.deiH3381into the pitבֽוֹר׃VorH953.

8Cause me to hearהַשְׁמִ֘יעֵ֤נִיhash.Mi.'E.niH8085thy lovingkindnessחַסְדֶּךָ֮chas.de.KhaH2617in the morningבַבֹּ֨קֶר׀va.Bo.kerH1242;for in thee do I trustבָ֫טָ֥חְתִּיva.Ta.che.tiH982:cause me to knowהוֹדִיעֵ֗נִיho.di.'E.niH3045the wayדֶּֽרֶךְ־de.rekh-H1870whereinז֥וּzuH2098I should walkH3212;for I lift upנָשָׂ֥אתִיna.Sa.tiH5375my soulנַפְשִֽׁי׃naf.ShiH5315unto thee.

11Quickenתְּחַיֵּ֑נִיte.chai.Ye.niH2421me, O Lordיְהוָ֣הYah.wehH3068,for thy name’sשִׁמְךָ֣shim.KhaH8034sake: for thy righteousness’בְּצִדְקָתְךָ֓׀be.tzid.ka.te.ChaH6666sake bringתוֹצִ֖יאto.Tzi'H3318my soulנַפְשִֽׁי׃naf.ShiH5315out of troubleמִצָּרָ֣הmi.tza.RahH6869.
