7Now when all the captainsשָׂרֵ֨יsa.ReiH8269of the forcesהַחֲיָלִ֜יםha.cha.ya.LimH2428which werein the fieldsבַּשָּׂדֶ֗הba.sa.DehH7704, eventhey and their menוְאַנְשֵׁיהֶ֔םve.'an.shei.HemH582,heardוַיִּשְׁמְעוּ֩vai.yish.me.'UH8085that the kingמֶֽלֶךְ־Me.lekh-H4428of Babylonבָּבֶ֛לba.VelH894had made Gedaliahגְּדַלְיָ֥הוּge.dal.Ya.huH1436the sonבֶן־ven-H1121of Ahikamאֲחִיקָ֖ם'a.chi.KamH296governorהִפְקִ֧ידhif.KidH6485in the landבָּאָ֑רֶץba.'A.retzH776,and had committedהִפְקִ֣ידhif.KidH6485unto him menאֲנָשִׁ֤ים'a.na.ShimH582,and womenוְנָשִׁים֙ve.na.ShimH802,and childrenוָטָ֔ףva.TafH2945,and of the poorוּמִדַּלַּ֣תu.mi.da.LatH1803of the landהָאָ֔רֶץha.'A.retzH776,of them that were not carried away captiveהָגְל֖וּha.ge.LuH1540to Babylonבָּבֶֽלָה׃ba.Ve.lahH894;

9And Gedaliahגְּדַלְיָ֨הוּge.dal.Ya.huH1436the sonבֶן־ven-H1121of Ahikamאֲחִיקָ֤ם'a.chi.KamH296the sonבֶּן־ben-H1121of Shaphanשָׁפָן֙sha.FanH8227swareוַיִּשָּׁבַ֨עvai.yi.sha.Va'H7650unto them and to their menוּלְאַנְשֵׁיהֶ֣םu.le.'an.shei.HemH582,sayingלֵאמֹ֔רle.MorH559,Fearתִּֽירְא֖וּti.re.'UH3372not to serveמֵעֲב֣וֹדme.'a.VodH5647the Chaldeansהַכַּשְׂדִּ֑יםha.kas.DimH3778:dwell inשְׁב֣וּshe.VuH3427the landבָאָ֗רֶץva.'A.retzH776,and serveוְעִבְד֛וּve.'iv.DuH5647the kingמֶ֥לֶךְMe.lekhH4428of Babylonבָּבֶ֖לba.VelH894,and it shall be wellוְיִיטַ֥בve.yi.TavH3190with you.

10As for me, behold, I will dwellיֹשֵׁב֙yo.ShevH3427at Mizpahבַּמִּצְפָּ֔הba.mitz.PahH4709to serveלַֽעֲמֹד֙ לִפְנֵ֣יla.'a.Mod lif.NeiH6440 H5975the Chaldeansהַכַּשְׂדִּ֔יםha.kas.DimH3778,which will comeיָבֹ֖אוּya.Vo.'uH935unto us: but ye, gatherאִסְפוּ֩'is.FuH622ye wineיַ֨יִןYa.yinH3196,and summer fruitsוְקַ֜יִץve.Ka.yitzH7019,and oilוְשֶׁ֗מֶןve.She.menH8081,and putוְשִׂ֙מוּ֙ve.Si.muH7760themin your vesselsבִּכְלֵיכֶ֔םbikh.lei.KhemH3627,and dwellוּשְׁב֖וּu.she.VuH3427in your citiesבְּעָרֵיכֶ֥םbe.'a.rei.KhemH5892that ye have takenתְּפַשְׂתֶּֽם׃te.fas.TemH8610.

11Likewise when all the Jewsהַיְּהוּדִ֡יםhai.ye.hu.DimH3064that werein Moabבְּמוֹאָ֣ב׀be.mo.'AvH4124,and among the Ammonitesעַמּ֨וֹןa.MonH5983,and in Edomוּבֶאֱד֜וֹםu.ve.'e.DomH123, and that werein all the countriesהָֽאֲרָצוֹת֙ha.'a.ra.tzOtH776,heardשָֽׁמְע֔וּsha.me.'UH8085that the kingמֶֽלֶךְ־Me.lekh-H4428of Babylonבָּבֶ֛לba.VelH894had leftנָתַ֧ןna.TanH5414a remnantשְׁאֵרִ֖יתshe.'e.RitH7611of Judahלִֽיהוּדָ֑הli.hu.DahH3063,and that he had setהִפְקִ֣ידhif.KidH6485over them Gedaliahגְּדַלְיָ֖הוּge.dal.Ya.huH1436the sonH1121of Ahikamאֲחִיקָ֥ם'a.chi.KamH296the sonH1121of Shaphanשָׁפָֽן׃sha.FanH8227;
