Daniel 8:14-26
14He saidH559 to meH413, “It will takeH5704 2,300H505H7969H3967 eveningsH6153 and morningsH1242; then the sanctuaryH6944 will be properly restoredH6663.”
15WhileH1961 IH589, DanielH1841, was watchingH7200 the visionH2377 and trying toH1245 understand itH998, thereH2009 stoodH5975 before meH5048 one having the appearanceH4758 of a manH1397. 16And I heardH8085 the voiceH6963 of a manH120 callingH7121H559 from betweenH996 the banks of the UlaiH195: “GabrielH1403, explainH995 the visionH4758 to this manH1975.”
17As he cameH935 nearH681 to where I stoodH5977, I was terrifiedH1204 and fellH5307 facedownH5921H6440.
“SonH1121 of manH120,” he saidH559 to meH413, “understandH995 thatH3588 the visionH2377 concerns the timeH6256 of the endH7093.”
18While he was speakingH1696 with meH5973, I fell into a deep sleepH7290, withH5921 my faceH6440 to the groundH776.
Then he touchedH5060 me, helped me to my feetH5975H5921H5977, 19and saidH559, “BeholdH2005, I will make known to youH3045 whatH834 will happenH1961 in the latter timeH319 of wrathH2195, becauseH3588 it concerns the appointed timeH4150 of the endH7093.
20The two-hornedH7161 ramH352 thatH834 you sawH7200H1167 represents the kingsH4428 of MediaH4074 and PersiaH6539. 21The shaggyH8163 goatH6842 represents the kingH4428 of GreeceH3120,1 and the largeH1419 hornH7161 betweenH996 his eyesH5869 isH1931 the firstH7223 kingH4428. 22The fourH702 horns that replacedH8478 the brokenH7665 one represent fourH702 kingdomsH4438 that will riseH5975 from that nationH1471H5975 but will not haveH3808 the same powerH3581.
23In the latter partH319 of their reignH4438, when the rebellionH6586 has reached its full measureH8552, an insolentH5794H6440 kingH4428, skilledH995 in intrigueH2420, will come to the throneH5975. 24His powerH3581 will be greatH6105, but itH3581H6381 will not be his ownH3808. He will cause terrible destructionH7843 and succeedH6743 in whatever he doesH6213. He will destroyH7843 the mighty menH6099 along with the holyH6918 peopleH5971. 25ThroughH5921 his craftH7922 and by his handH3027, he will cause deceitH4820 to prosperH6743, and in his own mindH3824 he will make himself greatH1431. In a time of peaceH7962 he will destroyH7843 manyH7227, and he will even standH5975 againstH5921 the PrinceH8269 of princesH8269. Yet he will be broken offH7665, but notH657 by human handsH3027.
26The visionH4758 of the eveningsH6153 and the morningsH1242 thatH834 has been spokenH559 is trueH571H1931. Now youH859 must seal upH5640 the visionH2377, forH3588 it concerns the distantH7227 futureH3117.”
