22Listenשְׁמַ֣עshe.Ma'H8085to your fatherלְ֭אָבִיךָLe.'a.vi.khaH1whoזֶ֣הzehH2088gave you lifeיְלָדֶ֑ךָye.la.De.khaH3205,and do notוְאַל־ve.'al-H408despiseתָּ֝ב֗וּזta.VuzH936your motherאִמֶּֽךָ׃'i.Me.khaH517whenכִּֽי־ki-H3588she is oldזָקְנָ֥הza.ke.NahH2204.

23Invest inקְ֭נֵהKe.nehH7069truthאֱמֶ֣ת'e.MetH571and neverוְאַל־ve.'al-H408sell itתִּמְכֹּ֑רtim.KorH4376—in wisdomחָכְמָ֖הchokh.mahH2451and instructionוּמוּסָ֣רu.mu.SarH4148and understandingוּבִינָֽה׃u.vi.NahH998.

24The fatherאֲבִ֣י'a.ViH1of a righteous manצַדִּ֑יקtza.DikH6662will greatly rejoiceH1523,and he who fathersוְיוֹלֵ֥דve.yo.ledH3205a wise sonחָ֝כָ֗םcha.KhamH2450will delight in himH8055.

25May your fatherאָבִ֥יךָ'a.Vi.khaH1and motherוְאִמֶּ֑ךָve.'i.Me.khaH517be gladיִֽשְׂמַח־yis.mach-H8055,and may she who gave you birthיֽוֹלַדְתֶּֽךָ׃Yo.lad.Te.khaH3205rejoiceוְ֝תָגֵ֗לve.ta.GelH1523!

26My sonבְנִ֣יve.NiH1121,give meתְּנָֽה־te.nah-H5414your heartלִבְּךָ֣li.be.KhaH3820,and let your eyesוְ֝עֵינֶ֗יךָve.'ei.Nei.khaH5869delightH7521in my waysדְּרָכַ֥יde.ra.KhaiH1870.

27Forכִּֽי־ki-H3588a prostituteזוֹנָ֑הzo.NahH2181is a deepעֲמֻקָּ֣ה'a.mu.KahH6013pitשׁוּחָ֣הshu.ChahH7745,and an adulteressנָכְרִיָּֽה׃na.khe.ri.YahH5237is a narrowצָ֝רָ֗הtza.RahH6862wellוּבְאֵ֥רu.ve.'ErH875.
