3And they toldוַיֹּאמְרוּ֮vai.yo.me.RuH559me, “The remnantהַֽנִּשְׁאָרִ֞יםha.nish.'a.RimH7604whoאֲשֶֽׁר־'a.Sher-H834survivedנִשְׁאֲר֤וּ מִן־nish.'a.Ru min-H7604 H4480the exileהַשְּׁבִי֙ha.she.ViH7628arethereשָׁ֣םshamH8033in the provinceבַּמְּדִינָ֔הba.me.di.NahH4082,in greatגְדֹלָ֖הge.do.LahH1419troubleבְּרָעָ֥הbe.ra.'AhH7451and disgraceוּבְחֶרְפָּ֑הu.ve.cher.PahH2781.The wallוְחוֹמַ֤תve.cho.MatH2346of Jerusalemיְרוּשָׁלִַ֙ם֙ye.ru.sha.LimH3389isbroken downמְפֹרָ֔צֶתme.fo.Ra.tzetH6555,and its gatesוּשְׁעָרֶ֖יהָu.she.'a.Rei.haH8179have been burnedנִצְּת֥וּni.tze.TuH3341with fireבָאֵֽשׁ׃va.'EshH784.”

4וַיְהִ֞יvay.HiH1961When I heardכְּשָׁמְעִ֣י׀ke.sha.me.'IH8085אֶת־'et-H853theseהָאֵ֗לֶּהha.'E.lehH428wordsהַדְּבָרִ֣יםha.de.va.RimH1697,I sat downיָשַׁ֙בְתִּי֙ya.Shav.tiH3427and weptוָֽאֶבְכֶּ֔הva.'ev.KehH1058.I mournedוָאֶתְאַבְּלָ֖הva.'et.'a.be.LahH56for daysיָמִ֑ים וָֽאֱהִ֥יya.Mim va.'e.HiH3117 H1961,fastingצָם֙tzamH6684and prayingוּמִתְפַּלֵּ֔לu.mit.pa.LelH6419beforeלִפְנֵ֖יlif.NeiH6440the Godאֱלֹהֵ֥י'e.lo.HeiH430of heavenהַשָּׁמָֽיִם׃ha.sha.Ma.yimH8064.
