14Yet you askוַאֲמַרְתֶּ֖םva.'a.mar.TemH559, “Whyעַל־ מָ֑ה'al- MahH5921H4100?”It is becauseעַ֡ל כִּי־'al ki-H5921H3588the LORDיְהוָה֩Yah.wehH3068has been a witnessהֵעִ֨ידhe.'IdH5749between youבֵּינְךָ֜bei.ne.KhaH996andוּבֵ֣ין׀u.VeinH996the wifeאֵ֣שֶׁת'E.shetH802of your youthנְעוּרֶ֗יךָne.'u.Rei.khaH5271,against whomאֲשֶׁ֤ר'a.SherH834youאַתָּה֙'a.TahH859have broken faithבָּגַ֣דְתָּהba.Gad.tahH898,though she isוְהִ֥יאve.Hi'H1931your companionחֲבֶרְתְּךָ֖cha.ver.te.KhaH2278and your wifeוְאֵ֥שֶׁתve.'E.shetH802by covenantבְּרִיתֶֽךָ׃be.ri.Te.khaH1285.
15Has notוְלֹא־ve.lo'-H3808the LORDmade themעָשָׂ֗ה'a.SahH6213oneאֶחָ֣ד'e.ChadH259,having a portionוּשְׁאָ֥רu.she.'ArH7605of the Spiritר֙וּחַ֙Ru.achH7307?And whyוּמָה֙u.MahH4100oneהָֽאֶחָ֔דha.'e.ChadH259?Because He seeksמְבַקֵּ֖שׁme.va.KeshH1245godlyאֱלֹהִ֑ים'E.lo.HimH430offspringזֶ֣רַעZe.ra'H2233.So guard yourselvesוְנִשְׁמַרְתֶּם֙ve.nish.mar.TemH8104in your spiritבְּר֣וּחֲכֶ֔םbe.Ru.cha.KhemH7307and do notאַל־'al-H408break faithיִבְגֹּֽד׃yiv.GodH898with the wifeוּבְאֵ֥שֶׁתu.ve.'E.shetH802of your youthנְעוּרֶ֖יךָne.'u.Rei.khaH5271.
