Zephaniah 3
1WoeH1945 to her that is rebellious and polluted! to the oppressingH3238 cityH5892! 2She obeyed not the voiceH6963; she receivedH3947 not correctionH4148; she trustedH982 not in Jehovah; she drewH7126 not near to her GodH430. 3Her princesH8269 in the midstH7130 of her are roaringH7580 lionsH738; her judgesH8199 are eveningH6153 wolvesH2061; they leave nothing till the morrow. 4Her prophetsH5030 are light and treacherous personsH376; her priestsH3548 have profanedH2490 the sanctuaryH6944, they have done violenceH2554 to the lawH8451. 5Jehovah in the midstH7130 of her is righteousH6662; he will not do iniquity; every morningH1242 doth he bring his justiceH4941 to lightH216, he faileth not; but the unjust knoweth no shameH1322. 6I have cutH3772 off nationsH1471; their battlements are desolateH8074; I have madeH3772 their streetsH2351 waste, so that none passeth by; their citiesH5892 are destroyed, so that there is no manH376, so that there is no inhabitantH3427. 7I saidH559, OnlyH389 fearH3372 thou me; receiveH3947 correctionH4148; so her dwelling shall not be cutH3772 off, according to all that I have appointedH6485 concerning her: but they roseH7925 earlyH7925 and corruptedH7843 all their doings.
8ThereforeH3651 waitH2442 ye for me, saith Jehovah, until the dayH3117 that I riseH6965 up to the prey; for my determination is to gatherH6908 the nationsH1471, that I may assemble the kingdomsH4467, to pourH8210 upon them mine indignationH2195, even all my fierce angerH639; for all the earthH776 shall be devouredH398 with the fireH784 of my jealousyH7068.
9For thenH227 will I turnH2015 to the peoplesH5971 of a pureH1305 languageH8193, that they may all callH7121 upon the nameH8034 of Jehovah, to serveH5647 him with oneH259 consent. 10From beyond the riversH5104 of Ethiopia my suppliants, even the daughterH1323 of my dispersed, shall bringH2986 mine offeringH4503. 11In that dayH3117 shalt thou not be putH954 to shameH954 for all thy doings, wherein thou hast transgressedH6586 against me; for thenH227 I will take awayH5493 out of the midstH7130 of thee thy proudly exulting onesH5947, and thou shalt no more be haughty in my holyH6944 mountainH2022. 12But I will leaveH7604 in the midstH7130 of thee an afflictedH6041 and poorH6041 peopleH5971, and they shall takeH2620 refugeH2620 in the nameH8034 of Jehovah. 13The remnantH7611 of IsraelH3478 shall not do iniquity, nor speakH1696 liesH3577; neither shall a deceitful tongueH3956 be foundH4672 in their mouthH6310; for they shall feedH7462 and lieH7257 down, and none shall makeH6213 them afraid.
14SingH7442, O daughterH1323 of ZionH6726; shoutH7321, O IsraelH3478; be gladH8055 and rejoiceH8055 with all the heartH3820, O daughterH1323 of JerusalemH3389. 15Jehovah hath taken awayH5493 thy judgmentsH4941, he hath cast out thine enemyH341: the KingH4428 of IsraelH3478, even Jehovah, is in the midstH7130 of thee; thou shalt not fearH3372 evilH7451 any more. 16In that dayH3117 it shall be saidH559 to JerusalemH3389, FearH3372 thou not; O ZionH6726, let not thy handsH3027 be slackH7503. 17Jehovah thy GodH430 is in the midstH7130 of thee, a mightyH1368 oneH1368 who will saveH3467; he will rejoiceH1523 over thee with joyH8057; he will rest in his loveH160; he will joyH8057 over thee with singing. 18I will gatherH622 them that sorrow for the solemn assembly, who wereH1961 of thee; to whom the burden upon her wasH1961 a reproachH2781. 19Behold, at that timeH6256 I will deal with all them that afflictH6031 thee; and I will saveH3467 that which is lameH6760, and gatherH6908 that which was drivenH5080 awayH5080; and I will makeH7760 them a praiseH8416 and a nameH8034, whose shameH1322 hath been in all the earthH776. 20At that timeH6256 will I bringH935 you in, and at that timeH6256 will I gatherH6908 you; for I will makeH5414 you a nameH8034 and a praiseH8416 among all the peoplesH5971 of the earthH776, when I bringH935 backH7725 your captivityH7622 before your eyesH5869, saith Jehovah.
