Obadiah 1:8-16
8Shall I not in that dayH3117, saith Jehovah, destroyH6 the wiseH2450 men out of EdomH123, and understandingH8394 out of the mount of EsauH6215? 9And thy mightyH1368 menH376, O TemanH8487, shall be dismayedH2865, to the end that every oneH376 may be cutH3772 off from the mount of EsauH6215 by slaughter.
10For the violenceH2555 done to thy brotherH251 JacobH3290, shameH955 shall coverH3680 thee, and thou shalt be cutH3772 off for everH5769. 11In the dayH3117 that thou stoodest on the other side, in the dayH3117 that strangersH2114 carried away his substance, and foreigners entered into his gatesH8179, and castH3032 lotsH1486 upon JerusalemH3389, even thou wast as oneH259 of them. 12But lookH7200 not thou on the dayH3117 of thy brotherH251 in the dayH3117 of his disaster, and rejoiceH8055 not over the children of JudahH3063 in the dayH3117 of their destruction; neither speak proudly in the dayH3117 of distressH6869. 13Enter not into the gateH8179 of my peopleH5971 in the dayH3117 of their calamityH343; yea, lookH7200 not thou on their affliction in the dayH3117 of their calamityH343, neither lay ye hands on their substance in the dayH3117 of their calamityH343. 14And standH5975 thou not in the crossway, to cutH3772 off those of his that escapeH6412; and deliverH5462 not up those of his that remainH5975 in the dayH3117 of distressH6869.
15For the dayH3117 of Jehovah is near upon all the nationsH1471: as thou hast done, it shall be done unto thee; thy dealing shall returnH7725 upon thine own headH7218. 16For as ye have drunkH8354 upon my holyH6944 mountainH2022, so shall all the nationsH1471 drinkH8354 continuallyH8548; yea, they shall drinkH8354, and swallow down, and shall beH1961 as though they had not beenH1961.
