Jeremiah 32:1-25
The wordH1697 that cameH1961 to JeremiahH3414 from the LORDH3068 in the tenthH6224 yearH8141 of ZedekiahH6667 kingH4428 of JudahH3063, whichH834 was the eighteenthH6240 yearH8141 of NebuchadrezzarH5019.
NowH1961 at that time the kingH4428 of Babylon’sH894 armyH2428 besieged JerusalemH3389: and JeremiahH3414 the prophetH5030 was shutH3607 upH5921 in the courtH2691 of the guardH4307, whichH834 was in the kingH4428 of Judah’sH3063 houseH1004.
For ZedekiahH6667 kingH4428 of JudahH3063 had shutH3607 him upH5414, sayingH559, Wherefore dost thou prophesyH5012, and sayH559, ThusH3541 saith the LORDH3068, BeholdH2005, I will giveH5414 this cityH5892 intoH3027 the handH3027 of the kingH4428 of BabylonH894, and he shall takeH3920 it;
and ZedekiahH6667 kingH4428 of JudahH3063 shall notH3808 escapeH4422 outH7200 of the handH3027 of the ChaldeansH3778, but shall surelyH3588 be deliveredH5414 intoH3027 the handH3027 of the kingH4428 of BabylonH894, and shall speakH1696 with him mouthH6310 to mouthH6310, and his eyesH5869 shall beholdH7200 his eyesH5869;
and he shall lead ZedekiahH6667 to BabylonH894, and there shall he be untilH5704 I visitH6485 him, saith the LORDH3068: thoughH3588 ye fightH3898 with the ChaldeansH3778, ye shall notH3808 prosperH6743?
And JeremiahH3414 saidH559, The wordH1697 of the LORDH3068 cameH1961 unto meH413, sayingH559,
BeholdH2009, HanamelH2601 the sonH1121 of ShallumH7967 thine uncleH1730 shall comeH935 unto thee, sayingH559, BuyH7069 thee my fieldH7704 that is in AnathothH6068: for the rightH4941 of redemptionH1353 is thine to buyH7069 it.
SoH834 HanamelH2601 mine uncle’sH1730 sonH1121 cameH935 to meH413 in the courtH2691 of the guardH4307 accordingH4941 to the wordH1697 of the LORDH3068, and saidH559 unto meH413, BuyH7069 my fieldH7704, I prayH4994 thee, that is in AnathothH6068, whichH834 is in the landH776 of BenjaminH1144: for the rightH4941 of inheritanceH3425 is thine, and the redemptionH1353 is thine; buyH7069 it for thyself. Then I knewH3045 that this was the wordH1697 of the LORDH3068.
And I boughtH7069 the fieldH7704 that was in AnathothH6068 of HanamelH2601 mine uncle’sH1730 sonH1121, and weighedH8254 him the moneyH3701, evenH853 seventeen shekelsH8255 of silverH3701.
And I subscribed the deedH5612, and sealedH2856 it, and called witnessesH5707, and weighedH8254 him the moneyH3701 in the balancesH3976.
SoH3947 I tookH3947 the deedH5612 of the purchaseH4736, both that which was sealedH2856, according to the law and customH2706, and that which was openH1540:
and I deliveredH5414 the deedH5612 of the purchaseH4736 unto BaruchH1263 the sonH1121 of NeriahH5374, the sonH1121 of MahseiahH4271, in the presenceH5869 of HanamelH2601 mine uncle’sH1730 sonH1121, and in the presenceH5869 of the witnessesH5707 that subscribed the deedH5612 of the purchaseH4736, beforeH5869 allH3605 the JewsH3064 that satH3427 in the courtH2691 of the guardH4307.
And I chargedH6680 BaruchH1263 beforeH5869 them, sayingH559,
ThusH3541 saith the LORDH3068 of hostsH6635, the GodH430 of IsraelH3478: TakeH3947 theseH428 deedsH5612, this deedH5612 of the purchaseH4736, both that whichH428 is sealedH2856, and this deedH5612 whichH428 is openH1540, and putH5414 them in an earthenH2789 vesselH3627; that they may continueH5975 manyH7227 daysH3117.
For thusH3541 saith the LORDH3068 of hostsH6635, the GodH430 of IsraelH3478: HousesH1004 and fieldsH7704 and vineyardsH3754 shall yet againH5750 be boughtH7069 in this landH776.
NowH5414 afterH310 I had deliveredH5414 the deedH5612 of the purchaseH4736 unto BaruchH1263 the sonH1121 of NeriahH5374, I prayedH6419 unto the LORDH3068, sayingH559,
AhH162 LordH136 GODH136! beholdH2009, thou hast madeH6213 the heavenH8064 and the earthH776 by thy greatH1419 powerH2220 and by thy stretchedH5186 outH4480 armH2220; there is nothingH3808 tooH4480 hardH1419 for thee:
whichH6635 shewest mercyH3068 unto thousandsH505, and recompensest the iniquityH5771 of the fathersH1 intoH413 the bosomH2436 of their childrenH1121 afterH310 them: the greatH1419, the mightyH1368 GodH410, the LORDH3068 of hostsH6635 is his nameH8034:
greatH1419 in counselH6098, and mightyH1419 in workH5414: whoseH834 eyesH5869 are openH6491 uponH5921 allH3605 the waysH1870 of the sonsH1121 of menH376; to giveH5414 everyH3605 one accordingH5921 to his waysH1870, and accordingH5921 to the fruitH6529 of his doingsH4611:
whichH834 didst setH7760 signsH226 and wondersH4159 in the landH776 of EgyptH4714, evenH5704 unto this dayH3117, bothH120 in IsraelH3478 and among otherH2088 menH120; and madest thee a nameH8034, as at this dayH3117;
and didst bringH3318 forthH3318 thy peopleH5971 IsraelH3478 outH3318 of the landH776 of EgyptH4714 with signsH226, and with wondersH4159, and with a strongH2389 handH3027, and with a stretchedH5186 outH3318 armH248, and with greatH1419 terrorH4172;
and gavest them this landH776, whichH834 thou didst swearH7650 to their fathersH1 to giveH5414 them, a landH776 flowingH2100 milkH2461 and honeyH1706;
and they cameH935 in, and possessedH3423 it; but they obeyedH8085 notH3808 thy voiceH6963, neitherH3808 walkedH1980 in thy lawH8451; they have doneH6213 nothingH3808 of allH3605 that thou commandedst them to doH6213: therefore thou hast causedH834 allH3605 this evilH7451 to comeH935 uponH935 them:
BeholdH2009 the mounts, they are comeH935 unto the cityH5892 to takeH3920 it; and the cityH5892 is givenH5414 intoH935 the handH3027 of the ChaldeansH3778 that fightH3898 againstH5921 it, becauseH5921 of the swordH2719, and of the famineH7458, and of the pestilenceH1698: and whatH834 thou hast spokenH1696 is comeH935 to passH935; and, beholdH2009, thou seest it.
And thou hast saidH559 unto meH413, O LordH136 GODH136, BuyH7069 thee the fieldH7704 for moneyH3701, and callH559 witnessesH5707; whereas the cityH5892 is givenH5414 intoH413 the handH3027 of the ChaldeansH3778.
