Revised Version 1895
Jeremiah 26:1-15
In the beginningH7225 of the reignH4468 of JehoiakimH3079 the sonH1121 of JosiahH2977, kingH4428 of JudahH3063, cameH1961 this wordH1697 from the LORDH3068, sayingH559,
ThusH3541 saith the LORDH3068: StandH5975 in the courtH2691 of the LORD’SH3068 houseH1004, and speakH1696 unto allH3605 the citiesH5892 of JudahH3063, whichH834 comeH935 to worshipH7812 in the LORD’SH3068 houseH1004, allH3605 the wordsH1697 that I commandH6680 thee to speakH1696 unto them; keepH935 notH408 backH935 a wordH1697.
It may be they will hearken, and turnH7725 everyH376 manH376 from his evilH7451 wayH1870; that I may repentH7725 meH413 of the evilH7451, whichH834 I purpose to doH6213 unto them becauseH834 of the evilH7451 of their doingsH4611.
And thou shalt sayH559 unto them, ThusH3541 saith the LORDH3068: IfH518 ye will notH3808 hearken to meH413, to walk in my lawH8451, whichH834 I have setH5414 beforeH6440 youH834,
to hearken to the wordsH1697 of my servantsH5650 the prophetsH5030, whomH834 I sendH7971 unto youH834, evenH3808 risingH7925 upH7925 earlyH7925 and sendingH7971 them, but ye have notH3808 hearkened;
then will I makeH5414 this houseH1004 like ShilohH7887, and will makeH5414 this cityH5892 a curseH7045 to allH3605 the nationsH1471 of the earthH776.
And the priestsH3548 and the prophetsH5030 and allH3605 the peopleH5971 heardH8085 JeremiahH3414 speakingH1696 theseH428 wordsH1697 in the houseH1004 of the LORDH3068.
And it cameH1961 to passH1961, when JeremiahH3414 had madeH1696 an endH3615 of speakingH1696 allH3605 that the LORDH3068 had commandedH6680 him to speakH1696 unto allH3605 the peopleH5971, that the priestsH3548 and the prophetsH5030 and allH3605 the peopleH5971 laidH6680 holdH8610 on him, sayingH559, Thou shalt surelyH4191 dieH4191.
WhyH4069 hast thou prophesiedH5012 in the nameH8034 of the LORDH3068, sayingH559, This houseH1004 shall be like ShilohH7887, and this cityH5892 shall be desolate, withoutH369 inhabitantH3427? And allH3605 the peopleH5971 were gatheredH6950 unto JeremiahH3414 in the houseH1004 of the LORDH3068.
And when the princesH8269 of JudahH3063 heardH8085 theseH428 things, they cameH5927 upH5927 from the king’sH4428 houseH1004 unto the houseH1004 of the LORDH3068; and they satH3427 in the entryH6607 of the newH2319 gateH8179 of the LORD’SH3068 houseH1004.
Then spake the priestsH3548 and the prophetsH5030 unto the princesH8269 and to allH3605 the peopleH5971, sayingH559, This manH376 is worthyH4941 of deathH4194; for he hath prophesiedH5012 againstH413 this cityH5892, as ye have heardH8085 with your earsH241.
Then spake JeremiahH3414 unto allH3605 the princesH8269 and to allH3605 the peopleH5971, sayingH559, The LORDH3068 sentH7971 meH413 to prophesyH5012 againstH413 this houseH1004 and againstH413 this cityH5892 allH3605 the wordsH1697 that ye have heardH8085.
Therefore nowH6258 amendH3190 your waysH1870 and your doingsH4611, and obeyH8085 the voiceH6963 of the LORDH3068 your GodH430; and the LORDH3068 will repentH5162 him of the evilH7451 that he hath pronouncedH1696 againstH5921 youH834.
But as for meH589, beholdH2005, I am in your handH3027: doH6213 with meH589 as is goodH2896 and rightH3477 in your eyesH5869.
OnlyH389 knowH3045 ye for certainH3045 that, ifH518 ye putH5414 meH413 to deathH4191, ye shall bringH5414 innocentH5355 bloodH1818 uponH5921 yourselves, and uponH5921 this cityH5892, and uponH5921 the inhabitantsH3427 thereof: for of a truthH571 the LORDH3068 hath sentH7971 meH413 unto youH859 to speakH1696 allH3605 theseH428 wordsH1697 in your earsH241.
